A week or so, yeah. Not Feb and early March.

Also, being available on Amazon doesn't mean it isn't supply constrained. It was and still is hard to find in most places. Especially in Europe.

I thought that was the reason people were saying undertracked? Because its so available.

It is. But there's a matter of time we have to account for here. I'm talking about Feb and early March, they're talking about this past week.

Feb NPD showed more availability than Jan NPD though.

but does not effect things much overall.

Does it need to effect petty console wars?  Because that is really all you seem to care about at this moment.  I never even mentioned Xbox ONe outselling PS4 lifetime.  I just said Xbox One did great for 13 countries but that seems to have offended you

I remember why i dont comment in these threads now.

It's because the "for 13 countries" qualifier people keep adding is an excuse, as if the XBone would sell astronomically higher if it was in all those small countries.
13 vs 48 (or 52?) keeps being said over and over as a reason why XBone sales aren't as high as PS4, but NA, UK, and Australia are the only markets that Xbox sells respectably anyway. Think about it. How much of an impact is a country like The Netherlands really having on PS4 sales? Enough to make you keep saying "well the XBone is only in 13 territories" as an excuse for it handedly getting outsold worldwide, weekly? You realize that the populations of countries like Finland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, etc. are less than the state of California and that many (if not all) combined are less that the US, right? People who keep using using "for 13 territories" make it seem like the PS4 is in 35 more US sized countries than the XBone when in actuality, it's not a level playing field to do a country to country comparison, going purely by the number of countries are being serviced right now. For example, if XBones were only available in NY, but PS4 was only available in Portugal, and XBone outsold PS4, is it really a fair comparison to say "man, Xbone is outselling PS4 and it's only in 1 state and it's beating an entire country! Imagine if it were available in the rest of the US!"?

Long story short, the next time you say the XBone did something good "for only being in 13 territories", remember that an additional country like Costa Rica, for you to compare and say "but the PS4 has 48 regions", has less people in it than Massachusetts

next week ww 90-100k XO

I love the desperate attempts from some here to downplay this success, because it is a success indeed :).

I, by no means, would say that selling 155k in a week isn't a success, but it's only a relative success (given the context). Yea, it boosted says by 108%, but that's the problem with percentages. Going from 1 to 2 is a 100% increase. What I'm trying to say is that XBone numbers weren't that great to begin with so to laud "look at that boost!" ignores the fact that it's not hard to go from less than stellar sales to good sales. It's hard to go from good sales to great sales. If a new Mario came out next week and the WiiU jumped to 70k, would you call that a success? Yea, sales doubled, but doubling a lower number isn't that great in the grand scheme of things. That's what I mean by a relative success.

I remember a time in this forum when selling anything less 100k a week meant your sales were poor (this was mostly an anti-PS3 position since it's sales neared dipping below 100k, so to make it look worse, Xbox fans would say <100K bad, >100k good, because 360 was consistently above 100k), and now those same people are going nuts for 150k for a game that was massively hyped, bundled for free, and had a price cut in a region? Please don't mind my skepticism of this "success" when looking at the big picture.

For right now, though, it's a great thing.

Well, of course it is a relative success since we must look at this generation from where the competitors stand compared to each other. I have said all along that I am pessimistic that any of the three will even come close to generation 7 in sales and the sales of PS4 aren´t great either when compared to the last generation (especially how the Wii started taking off around this time). But when looking at the 8th generation, this is a great success, seeing as MS more than doubled sales of its console during an otherwise slow month.

the downplay is pretty hefty, the 180 machine vs the saviour of gaming

If we compare all future consoles to the Wii than they will all be considered failures.  Wii was a one off that caught a massive casual crowd, plus had an appealing price point from the off.  It does a disservice to PS4 and X1 numbers so far when people constantly bring up the Wii.  So yes, total 8th gen sales will be well under 260 million of 7th gen sales, but that doesn't mean doom and gloom.

Only Japan keeping Wii U above 360.

155,106 vs. 74,441 is a 108% increase week over week.

am i wrong to be not all that impressed? i mean, for the GotG and for being this early in the generation where an exclusive game can have the highest amount of impact.

You know thats the US doing most of the heavy lifting. 13 countries for X1. PS4 has what...48?

And this is coming from me...it isn't exclusive. It is a "multiplat not on PS4".

no idea what the 13 vs 48 countries has to do with anything.  xbox was in 13 countries last week and in 13 countries this week.   108% increase is still a 108% increase....

i mean, just put that into context.  mgs4 gave ps3 a 141% increase for instance.  mh4 game 3ds a 259% increase in japan.    i dunno, for all the hype and press is gave more a of "mid-teir exclusive" bump than a "high profile exclusive" bump.

maybe i'm being too harsh.  i think i just expected a bit better of a percent bump than 108%.  something closer to 150-200%

Well that said, it still isn't a exclusive. It is a multiplat that MS marketed to hell and back lol.

Oblivion and Ghost Recon, 2 multiplats with PC versions released in March of 2006, when 360 was 5 months old. Both multiplats with 360 buzz going for it. Pretty sure Titanfall blew those two games opening 360 sales out of the water.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Well then, Titanfall exceeded my expectations! Will probably have 900k-1,000k in March alone, then 3,500k-4,000k by DEC.

I hope the XOne will at least hover around 90k after the hype dies down (Mid-April).

Infamous week will definitely have PS4 at around 190-230k.

Very good week for XOne, meh week for everyone not named 3DS and PS4.

Won bet with t3mporary_126 - I correctly predicted that the Wii U's LTD at the end of 2014 would be closer to 9 million than 10 million. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6673287
