I, by no means, would say that selling 155k in a week isn't a success, but it's only a relative success (given the context). Yea, it boosted says by 108%, but that's the problem with percentages. Going from 1 to 2 is a 100% increase. What I'm trying to say is that XBone numbers weren't that great to begin with so to laud "look at that boost!" ignores the fact that it's not hard to go from less than stellar sales to good sales. It's hard to go from good sales to great sales. If a new Mario came out next week and the WiiU jumped to 70k, would you call that a success? Yea, sales doubled, but doubling a lower number isn't that great in the grand scheme of things. That's what I mean by a relative success.
I remember a time in this forum when selling anything less 100k a week meant your sales were poor (this was mostly an anti-PS3 position since it's sales neared dipping below 100k, so to make it look worse, Xbox fans would say <100K bad, >100k good, because 360 was consistently above 100k), and now those same people are going nuts for 150k for a game that was massively hyped, bundled for free, and had a price cut in a region? Please don't mind my skepticism of this "success" when looking at the big picture.
For right now, though, it's a great thing.

Well, of course it is a relative success since we must look at this generation from where the competitors stand compared to each other. I have said all along that I am pessimistic that any of the three will even come close to generation 7 in sales and the sales of PS4 aren´t great either when compared to the last generation (especially how the Wii started taking off around this time). But when looking at the 8th generation, this is a great success, seeing as MS more than doubled sales of its console during an otherwise slow month.

If we compare all future consoles to the Wii than they will all be considered failures. Wii was a one off that caught a massive casual crowd, plus had an appealing price point from the off. It does a disservice to PS4 and X1 numbers so far when people constantly bring up the Wii. So yes, total 8th gen sales will be well under 260 million of 7th gen sales, but that doesn't mean doom and gloom.
