I loved it like every other Zelda game, but better than Wind Waker? Nope sorry. Compare how many Islands in the sky you can explore to how many islands you can explore in Wind Waker. I think I liked Skyward Sword as much as I liked Twilight Princess. I will admit though that the dungeons and the soundtrack are some of the best in the series.
LITTLE MAC

It's actually probably my least favorite console Zelda since OoT... but it's still a great game.
I liked the story (especially Zelda and Ganon's origins), the motion controls were often utilized creatively and I like that the puzzles were often new and unpredictable (unlike Twilight Princess).
What I didn't like was the horribly limited sky overworld, the fact that you had to revisit the same areas so much (which often times weren't terribly interesting to begin with), and the fact that the motion controls were way overused when it came to combat. Fighting enemies by stabbing in different ways was great, but should have been limited to finishing moves or special attacks. Regular sword swipes should have been a simple button press, IMO. Little things like cutting grass, for example, was incredible tedious. And not being able to run and swing your sword simultaneously (ala Twilight Pincess) felt severely limited.
Honestly, I would put it pretty much on par with TP overall - each with their different strengths and shortcomings, but except for Zelda 2 (also great), I definitely like every other console Zelda game a good deal better.

I didn't really mind the controls too much, but this. I hated this.

Silly me, for thinking that sailing in a largely barren ocean and swimming chasing tad tones wasn't my idea of an entertaining Zelda game. |
I despised Wind Waker for that reason alone, but Wind Waker HD fixes those issues, putting it next to my favourite games ever!
Skyward Sword does not have perfect controls, I honestly do not know how anybody can say that.

I haven't read all 8 pages, but I can already bet there are a lot of naysayers.
For me, it's actually competing for 3rd place of one of my top games of all time.
1) Ocarina of Time
2) Mario Kart (any of the home console ones, they're ALL fantastic to me!)
3) SM3DW vs Skyward Sword
It did so many more things right for the Zelda series, creating an actual plethora of characters that are more developed and a story that actually comes together moreso than any Zelda before it. It was a massive step in the right direction of cinematic flavor added to the Zelda formula. And its combat, though probably never to be seen again, was absolute bliss for me. The ACTUAL skill required in combat was of unquestionable praise, because people who waggle or just swing at things were easily frustrated, and rightfully so. If you took the time to actually master the combat, it was a Zelda experience unlike any other.
Good characters? Check. Good story? Check. Good combat? Check.
is a kind of game that or u love or u hate.
i undestand both feelings.
the begginig was borings, but when i got the feeling of the game, i love it.
Actually by gameplay default Oot is better than SS. The mere fact that SS had so many redundant and repetitive fetch quest would automatically put it below Oot, actually I cannot remember any annoying fetch quest in the main quest in Oot.
That absence of tedious fetch quest and collect 50 of these random things alone puts Oot head and shoulders above most other 3d zelda, at no point in time in Oot did you feel like the developer just put these padded gameplay elements there just to make the game APPEAR long, every moment felt fresh and original or have people forgotten these things. Skyward sword suffers too much from this so it shows the developers were devoid of original fun gameplay ideas.
At least the motion controls were some of the best though and gave the combat a fresh feel, too bad we won't see it again.
