I feel many missed this one because it came out so late in the console life cycle.

Have the collectors edition of XII never finished it though. I didn't like the combat system my younger sister beat it a couple of times though and played it for over 300 hours.

-FF Tactics: War of the Lions (this could be the same as PSP version but with trophies OR do a FFIII/IV level remake if feasible which would be awesome).

What do you guys think?

So the game should have 40% slowdown when doing any commands compared to the original PSX release?

You mean slower than it was already? That was something that plagued the original, and unfortunately stayed in the update. SE said it was for dramatic effect but it was just annoying really. Hopefully they would fix that.

Came in expecting a official announcement.....

Going out disappointed knowing its a "What if" like thread ;(

I just want to get FFXII HD even if its by itself.

/this

I'm not a huge fan of FFXII but it's still an okay game. I'd be willing to give it a shot again in a mutli-game collectin.

-FF Tactics A2

Man, I love that game too much.

I never played A2 but played the first advance and LOVED it. I actually prefer Advance over original Tactics combat. It was so much fun. I like the light hearted story.

WOTL has a great story but the combat is a bit broken due to the auto scale battles and it basically punishes those who like to powerlevel grind early on(like me). You can't see what the Battlefield layout is before choosing what pawns you want which I find really annoying. Advance fixed all of that.

My sentiments exactly. It's fun, the battles aren't too long and it's not too difficult either, though you can always find challenges. The graphics are lovely and colorful (as is the music); GBA/DS really were the pinnacle of pixel art, and the handheld format is perfect for games like these.

Not sure if you've never played the original or you have but you've most recently played the PSP version and assuming the original has the same slowdown, but the original has no slowdown.

If the link doesn't take you to the exact time, go to 3:04 to see a side by side comparison.  I've beaten the PSX version plenty of times, but I couldn't finish the PSP version because the slowdown was so much of an annoyance.  It wasn't just a few attacks here and there, it was literally each and every single command ability whether it was stone throw, tackle, counter, any spell, etc.  It didn't have the slowdown during normal attacks but everything else in the game.

I never played the original, I just remembered reading that both versions had slowdown during attacks. I could very easily be mistaken. Regardless, it is super annoying, another reason I preferred Advance over it. Its baffling as to why that is then. PSP far out powers the PS1. Hackers also added in patches to remove the slowdown effect to much glee of game owners too. So why did they make it like that in the first place?

I think it's a good idea!

You missed Vagrant Story from the list, however I think I'd just like to see a new Ivalice game. SquEnix have no direction though so I can see them doing a re-release of FF7, 8 and 9 before they put real thought and money into making new RPGs.

Hmm, pie.
