Forums - Sony - inFamous Second Son Leading Titanfall In Social Metrics, EA Sorry For Not Bringing Titanfall To PS4

Im sorry but If you're going to count YouTube views then you have to add all of those Titanfall Beta Lets Plays and walkthroughs. Millions of people watch those too. Also I've never once seen inFamous trending on Twitter. Its always been Titanfall/Xbox One.

"Sony also used it’s own metrics in a meeting with EA last week and showed them what they would have sold on the ps3 and ps4. The money EA took from MS doesn’t even begin to cover it. The EA guys went over the math and agreed. EA is in full ‘We’re so f**king sorry, Sony’ mode currently.”

This feels like bullshit to me honestly.

Why?

When they agree to Titanfall on the Xbox One, EA will have basically demanded compensation for the PlayStation sales. Since then, the PS3 and to a greater extent PS4 have had higher sales than anticipated

I'm more excited about inFamous and I'm sure there are plenty more who are too, but twitter isn't very representitive of the wider audience

EA don't need a meeting with Sony to know they missed out on lots of sales. That's why I think the story is bullshit.

So you don't think 3rd parties have meetings, conference calls etc with Sony, MS and/or Nintendo?   It's not like someone picks up a phone and says Hey Mr. Boyes or Mr. Moore lets get together and talk about Titanfall sales.  lol    It likely came up in a meeting or a conference call as a bullet point topic in a conversation at some point. Whether Sony or EA brought the topic up. I have no doubt in my mind that either side spoke of it to each other.

But he never said that InFAMOUS will outsell Titanfall. I'd be lucky to outsell Titanfall on the Xbox One alone. Add in the PC and 360 and InFamous is going to be crushed. I just think it'll be the biggest inFamous in the series and bigger than people expect in general. I think those of us who love open world games will take anything we get and be happy. Maybe that's just me :)

This article seems fake.

I think PS4 TF would have outsold XBO TF if it had released.
XBox360 TF would have outsold PS3 TF.

So might be looking at over a few months 1 million Ps4 sales and a couple of mill PS3 sales? So they would have lost 2-4 million sales on TF maybe. Wouldn't surprise me if the game would have sold more than MS paid for it... suspect EA were looking at a quick cash option.

I find it difficult to believe that Infamous is going to come all that close to Titanfall. Those metrics sound fairly meaningless. I have no doubt about EA being sorry, though. They fucked themselves through greed and stupidity, and having sold absolute exclusivity to Microsoft behind Respawn's back is the shit covered cherry on top of the shit flavored cake. What an awful company, on every level.

In terms of pre-orders in America alone Infamous Second Son came close and thats the Xbox One's strongest market so day one sales worldwide will most likely be even in the beginning. In the long run a multiplayer heavy game like Titanfall will see sales decline at a faster rate than Single Player only Infamous.

Famousmortimer isn't exactly known for his evenhandedness. I prefer Sony consoles and I still don't like him.

Also, "social metrics"? Really? Why not something actually relevant, like better pre-order numbers or something?

I was thinking that the whole time I read the article.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

Talk is cheap. Lets see how many put their money where their mouth is.

I agree 100% with this. However, even though the pre-orders on this site are to be taken with a grain of salt, if they're in the same ball park Infamous SS could be the best selling in the series. I agree though, PS gamers have to vote with their wallet rather then talking online about it whether it's forums, youtube etc. I feel the exact same way when people here start making list wars of Xbox exclusives and listing Quantum Break and Sunset Overdrive as system sellers. Insominiac has a lot to prove this gen and looking more and more irrelevant with each passing month. And for Remedy's QB, like you said. Talk is cheap and I really want to know if Xbox fans will actually purchase this interactive shooter. Alan Wake was hyped to the moon and that didn't fare to well.  As for Infamous, only a few more weeks to find out if talk really is cheap..

Titanfall is too much of an event game and the media has been riding its dick so hard that I just don't see it.
