Forums - Nintendo - Bravely Default Outsells FF Lightning Returns In US (BD= 200k+)

I love how much people complain about 13 having sequels like SQEX had much of a choice. HD development is expensive so they needed to reuse assets to keep the costs of the other games low so they could make a profit. Then there was Versus XIII being stuck in development hell so they had no other game to release. Trying to make XV (not VsXIII) would have been suicide as it would have been damn expensive and the sales of the 1st FF are always higher than the 2nd on a console (7>8&9, 10>12)

OT: Congrats to BD, its an awesome JRPG and I cant wait to hear more about the sequel. Hopefully they can turn the series into Final Fantasy's little bro for handhelds

People don't complain about XIII having sequels. They complain about XIII and its sequels being bad.

I haven't played Lightning Returns, but Bravely Default is pretty good. It's a bit poor in terms of decent class customization without being 25 hours in and attack magic builds are a joke compared to physical characters after about two hours, but it does a decent amount well. Great dungeon design, decent story, side quests all having their own unique dungeons and bosses that add to the story. It's pretty good and I'd recommend it.

Woot, this game is an epic game that everyone should play!!! SE along with Silicon Studio proved that they can still make awesome JRPGS

I don't think SE proved anything. I have zero faith in Square Enix themselves actually producing quality products and IPs.

Add: Funny enough I might buy Final Fantasy 15 on launch, without having faith in it. (Guess I have some faith maybe....)

LOL, if u decide to buy it, actually, u still have little faith on it. I understand it, lose faith in SE since the era of FFX :(. Sad.

Thank fucking god! An excellent game finally outselling a shit game, just like the way it should be!

Square Enix!!! Start listening to your fans damn it!!! We aren't the same fans that play cod/bf 24/7, we expect quality from the FF name!!!!!

Well deserved.

Hopefully this will lead to SE focusing on more original titles rather than focusing on sequels.

Yes and on the iOS, sorry had to get that in here.

Thats fine! I'm planning to get a iPad in the future and I hope more RPGs will be available on it - not like you need an actual controller for turn based combat :)

You should get FF: All The Bravest for your ipad then! It was Game of the year when it came out!

No surprise. A good game selling more than an average rehash game. Kudos bravery default.

A victory for gamers everywhere.
