Nintendo should aquire Shinen, then give them free reign to create high budget, western IPs such as FPS and racers. I think these guys could do wonders with a bit more financial muscle. Capcom or Sega would work too, as some of their IPs are Nintendoesque.

Playstation is rebounding and Sony won't get rid of any of it as its going to be largely very profitable this year.

Nintendo is looking at ways to branch out of gaming just as they left cards to digital gaming. They'll be focused on areas where they want to go and competencies that will help them get there.

For instance, they lack quality networking skills and any cloud type of technology. So just as Sony bought the online streaming company, Nintendo will do similar with tech they want. That tech may or may not directly benefit gaming, but it will be something similar and/or specifically related to their Quality of Life platform.

Too many people think all Ninty does is gaming. Many chose to ignore their last financial statement. Yes folks they do plan to do non gaming business ventures.

Dude, that pic is so hilarious. Maybe it's just because I've gotten through a twelve hour night shift, but, that made me laugh my ass off. I'm all teary eyed from laughing! Thank you.....

I laugh everytime I see it. I wish I knew where the image comes from. I have to know the context, it's just too bizarre.

Guys really I've been thinking about Apple and Nintendo.. Apple should buy out Nintendo... Apple could provide the resources for a quality console and Nintendo could provide the quality games still using mario and company as their flagship characters!!! You guys agree? :)

Please no... I don't want to pay $5000 for hardware that has the same power level as the gamecube...

lol... come on hun I kno apple is known for high pricing but they would be smart in this market... They are very innovative and they would obviously set prices to compete with the competition, while nintendo's brilliant gaming side would support apples innovation... I dunno the thought just sounds genious to me... I've had a few drinks lol. Oh well just my thoughts.. :)

I think you've had more than a few.  Please step out of the vehicle.

lol will do.

Whether they merge or not I still want my Nintendo vs Capcom game (in the style of Tatsunoko vs Capcom but six button controls).

If Nintendo buy SEGA and do a Valkyria Chronicles game on WiiU, that would be cool

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Wasnt there a rumor a while back that samsung wanted to enter the gaming market? I think samsung would be a great partner for nintendo, would instantly give them the best first party lineup, and I thinknthey would let nintendo do what they do: make great games. And not only would nintendo have the push from one of the worlds biggest and best electronics manufacturers, but it would be funny for samsung to enter tbe game market, as they have taken everything else from sony, why not the videogame industry too.... I know there will be some who love that last sentence in particular.

Nintendo merging with some other giant company (IE being bought and controlled by them), sounds awful.

Nintendo buying Capcom, at THIS point, would be absolutely worthless, because Capcom is a hollow shell of the awesome factory they used to be in the 80s and 90s.

Nintendo buying Sega, as I've pointed out since the GC era, would make total and absolute sense, because:

1. Sega doesn't seem to remember how to make terribly good games anymore, but they have this whole roster of great IPs, many of which they do absolutely nothing with.

2. Nintendo fully owning Sega's IPs and their development studios, would certainly be a bit of a coup. Not for all gamers, but there are many who would certainly care if the only place they can get any Sega franchises from now on (Sonic, Sega Rally, Virtua Fighter, Shinobi, etc.) would be on Nintendo systems.

That alone would be worth the money Nintendo would have to pay Sammy to buy Sega.

Then again, I also think Nintendo should buy Hudson Soft from Konami and resurrect the poor company, because Konami basically just killed them off, they've done nothing with their IPs at all, so they basically bought and absorbed Hudson for absolutely no reason whatsoever. You'd think they'd at least be milking Bomberman, but they don't even do that. At least Nintendo had a long history with Hudson, and seeing the Hudson Bee logo back and making games for Nintendo platforms again, even if they were just little digital titles, would be awesome.

Why would buying Capcom not make sense but buying SEGA would? Capcom still has a number of great IPs as well as decent staff. for example, Dino Crisis, Onimusha, Breath of Fire,  Monster Hunter and Megaman. Most of these are getting minimal use.

SEGA Sammy's greatest worth is in Football Manager and Pachinko as well as having the Total War and Company of Heroes franchise which do not translate well to Nintendo Consoles so SEGA becomes pretty poor investment unless they move to the pc market. Only Sonic, the SEGA All Stars series and Virtua Fighter would be IPs that would be decent investments when sticking to consoles and maybe Yakuza but there's a huge disparity between the console and the game's audience. Capcom makes much more sense as an acquistion due to being at least 1/10 of the cost as SEGA while being pretty equal in what they bring.

Nintendo doesn't need IPs, they have plenty of those. What they need is staff. Konami would be the best choice since they had dipped their feet already in QoL technologies though now that Iga left, there is less value in Konami in terms of talent
