Nintendo - Nintendo merger? - View Post

Nintendo merging with some other giant company (IE being bought and controlled by them), sounds awful.

Nintendo buying Capcom, at THIS point, would be absolutely worthless, because Capcom is a hollow shell of the awesome factory they used to be in the 80s and 90s.

Nintendo buying Sega, as I've pointed out since the GC era, would make total and absolute sense, because:

1. Sega doesn't seem to remember how to make terribly good games anymore, but they have this whole roster of great IPs, many of which they do absolutely nothing with.

2. Nintendo fully owning Sega's IPs and their development studios, would certainly be a bit of a coup. Not for all gamers, but there are many who would certainly care if the only place they can get any Sega franchises from now on (Sonic, Sega Rally, Virtua Fighter, Shinobi, etc.) would be on Nintendo systems.

That alone would be worth the money Nintendo would have to pay Sammy to buy Sega.

Then again, I also think Nintendo should buy Hudson Soft from Konami and resurrect the poor company, because Konami basically just killed them off, they've done nothing with their IPs at all, so they basically bought and absorbed Hudson for absolutely no reason whatsoever. You'd think they'd at least be milking Bomberman, but they don't even do that. At least Nintendo had a long history with Hudson, and seeing the Hudson Bee logo back and making games for Nintendo platforms again, even if they were just little digital titles, would be awesome.
