Huh… Just wait for FF XIV: ARR coming out in April. You'll be shocked by the Japanese sales.

Clearly, everyone but the Japanese understand how the Japanese console market operates.

I think this reaction is somewhat of a rubber banding to all the "PS4 will save home consoles in Japan" hype that came before its release. Like someone said before, I'm sure PS4 will even out to respectable numbers in a few years but the immediate reaction is not good.

The PS4 is outselling the Xbox One nearly 2:1 worldwide, it's obviously DOOMED.

Well it's a good thing Sony is relevant in all three big market they'll just outsell the competition combined x 1.5 instead of combined x 2. All that with no gamez, impressive

I can't speak for Japan, but everytime I go to a Gamestop or a Best Buy in my city in U.S., PS4 is always completely sold out still. Maybe Japan is simply selling out of them. It's pretty obvious Sony was not expecting this much early adoption.
