MS made a greater effort to win over Japan with the 360. Considering their lacklustre support this time around (with much much fewer exclusive titles aimed at Japanese gamers) and the awful sales of the 360, I think Japanese developer support will be even less this time around.

 The Xbox  One is going to get less support than the 360 in Japan. With the 360 they had many exclusive games that appealed to Japanese gamers, but that's not the case this time around.  The One will be lucky to reach 500k lifetime sales in Japan judging by the way Microsoft is handling the situation.

Less. The PS4 is really taking off fast worldwide unlike PS3, so there's little reason for most Japanese developers to put their games on X1.

That's like asking how much money is MS willing to pay for support. I expect way less than last gen. And PS4 will get less support than PS3 too.

M$ has a plan and for some reason I have a feeling it might work. They are sneaky little bastards. They aren't in it for money, they are in it for mind share. They aren't fighting only Sony and Nintendo. They need to be relevant in comparison to Google and Apple also.

Not a chance. The X360 only got the amount of sales and attention it got because it was available a year early. MS tried to really push it and take some share of Sony, which eventually failed even with that much effort.

I say no chance for X1. They couldn't win anything last gen with early japanese support, a year headstart and overall the better system. They won't do shit now.

This is a compliment now. Recognizing it as the only company that makes money right now.
