Tbh this could go either way, on one side the games are gonna be easier to port from the PS4 compared to the PS3 to 360, so more developers might make a X1 version cause its easier.  On the other hand this gen is probably gonna be closer to the PS2 days so devs might think they will make almost all their money on the PS4 and next to non on the X1 so a port is not worth the time and effort.  Which is more likely?

If Microsoft can make the Xbox One appeal more to the casual market in Japan, I'd say there would be more support because of more sales.

I honestly do not know for a fact that the One will release in Japan. The Japanese market does not buy many home consoles anyway and the one they will buy darn sure is not going to be one based around the living room and having space for kinect

Why would anyone want that? MS has close to no chance in this market. They should even consider leaving Japan completely out.

I think MS has burned its bridges with the Japanese market. They simply do not have the IPs needed to make a dent, and their emphasis on Western shooters won't do them any good in the region either.

Is not about if they port games or not. The xbox brand will never be accepted in Japan and with that price and coming out without a lead over PS4 will be even harder. I vote for the second one.

It's completely pointless to even LAUNCH there. Seriously.

The size of the Xbox One will be a huge disadvantage as well. I heard that Japanese living rooms are not that big, especially in a crowded city like Tokyo.

It's pretty much a no brainer, I say less:

The PS4 is native to Japan
It's easier to develop for
It's more powerful
It's selling way better
