You know, not to be a glory hog or anything but why do people always reference John Lucas as the craziest Nintendo loyalist on this forum. There are others (myself included) who have gone to RIDICULOUS lengths to uphold the honor of Nintendo (whether with buying the suckiest games just to support them, defending them verbally in front of 20 college age people at a call of dung party, etc.)

I consistently have to defend Nintendo to my future brother in-law. He is a PC loyalist. Do you know what it's like to have to defend Nintendo against a PC loyalist for roughly 3 years straight? John Lucas isn't the only Nintendo radical here. I am too and there are others I'm sure. I'm not even sure if people recognize me on these forums yet or not. Oh well. My rant is over now.

How do people come up with these? easily, the historical data. Wii U is performing 2/3 of the GC at the same time period. What is 2/3 of 22? ~15m if trend continues. Now suppose trend doesnt continue and somehow Nintendo starts selling better. Well, making up lost ground over a year and a half after launch is too late. That means wii U needs to outsell the GC by 33% from here on out to even match the GC sales. (even if the Wii U sold 33% better it still wouldbt catch up to GC after two more years.) Its unlikly that it goes from .66 of GC sales to 1.33 of GC sales.

How is having 2/3rds the sales the GC had at the same point in its life "bound to sell more"

I needs to start outselling the GC right NOW by 33% to even match the GC. Considering we know thats not going to have a chance until May then Wii U needs to outsell it by more than 33%. It wont even come near N64 numbers. It would need to catch fire starting Now to do that and even then Nintendo has reduced production wihich would be the limiting factor. Meaning, even if interest shot up to be able to get close to N64 numbers Nintendo would suffer worse shortages thann Ps4 right now limiting its sales
