Forums - Nintendo Discussion - FF 15 and KH3 makes more sense on Wii U than Xone

Regarding the preorder thing, that seems like a really bad way to assess the potential success of a game like FFXV, which has no release date and is not even really expected to land this year. Look at Smash, that game is known to launch in 2014 and has only 5.7k preorders.

Thing is this, right now there is nothing pointing to SE having any interest in developing for the Wii U, so I seriously wouldn't expect KH or FFXV on the console.

bayonetta 2 has more preorders than FF15 on ps4. Sure, it will release first, but it's a smaller franchise and their first real trailers were shown at the same time last E3(they had the same time to build preorders). smash bros may not even be open for pre orders in most places.

and anyone SHOULD expect KH3 on wii u thanks to disney and over half KH games being on nintendo. FF 15 is trickier because it depends more on how stupid square is.

No, the game is announced on PS4 and X1 and not on Wii U and a late reveal of the Wii U version makes no sense and there is not a single SE game announced for the Wii U. NOBODY should expect KH3 on Wii U that would be completely irrational.

Let's be frank. JRPGs (And many other Japanese-catered titles) very seldom have had success on Xbox -- even with the success of the 360.

In terms of market sales of this type of game, WiiU would be competitive with XOne.

Nintendo would be wise to secure KH3 as system exclusive if they could. That would be a 3rd party game that could do very well on the platform. A port would do reasonably well too.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

The 2 reasons why its not coming to wiiu:
1. install base
2. power of the consoles, while the ps4 is much stronger than the xbone, there seems to be an equal gap, if not more between the xbone and the wiiu. If those games were made with wiiu in mind, they would look worse. "a chain is only as strong as its weakest link"

Power didn't stop certain 3rd parties from porting some games on Wii did it?

and more importantly, the FAR BIGGER difference from ps360 to PC didn't stop ps360 from running on medium what pcs ran on ultra.

People really need to move on from this delusion that wii u is barely stronger than ps360. and hell, square is using an engine that is scalable from smartphones to high end pcs (hint: wii u is closer to a high end pc than it is to a phone and also closer to xone than it is to ps360).

Exactly. The reason they won't bother with a Wii U port is that they aren't willing to use any resources on it. RPG games do sell decently on Nintendo consoles.

Man... The things you assume and try to make as facts. You have no idea what those games will end up being like. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about here. Yet you assume they wouldn't need any major downgrade... Sorry, but your credibility is low enough that I don't think arguing this further with you will achieve anything.

and what's your amazing argument that proves it would take herculean effort to port those to wii u? we've seen how things are on this industry. engines are scalable and wii u can run decently whatever it is on ps4/xone, period.

But the Wii U is such a difficult console to program for, is it not? Tapping its incredible power is said to be no simple task, despite having an architecture VERY similar to the XBox 360. So how on earth is S-E going to be able to make a game that runs at decent performance, when third parties struggle to make games run better on it than on the PS3 and XBox 360?

They'd have to put a lot of effort into it to learn this extremely complicated hardware first and then make a port that runs smoothly enough to appease a near non-existing crowd.

why doesn't a "late reveal" makes no sense? especially when this late reveal would still be a lot sooner than release date either game.

the only irrational thing is for square not to release those games on wii u.

It would take a lot of effort and resources to port over. Not really worth it for SE.

Plus, this is Square Enix we're talking about! They take forever to get anything done these days (from in-house).

bold: just stop. go check early 360 ps2 ports and come back.

it's really amazing that people still use the old excuse of unoptimized last gen ports even after the exclusives show a big inprovement.

because after 18 months on the market it has a tiny userbase, there is a cost associated with porting to other platforms and the cost will just not be viable.

Im sure it would fit really well on ps2 aswell since that was kinda popular with pretty much every game due to its install base.. Noone owns a ps2 (anymore) though and the hardware is simply not able to get the gamw running. In essence this is why the game isnt on wii u.

The graphical and technical standards in the industry are set by the specs 2 HD consoles have, not by PC ultra specs, otherwise  we'd have games like Metro LL on ultra being a standard looking game. No one (or very few people at least)  is making games on pc ultra specs
