Was bound to happen eventually. Xbox One & Wii U are a mess currently, and Sony was basically the only console maker not to shoot themselves in the foot somehow and release a well-balanced machine at a decent mass-market price.
Loving the generalizations from people like the one above who think Nintendo fans live in some kind of denial though. We're dealing pretty well, I can assure you.

It was. Nintendeo deserves all the credit in the world for it, but everything points to a similar innovation not happening again.
Just look at sales.
nes: 60 mil
snes: 40 mil
n64: 30 mil
gcn: 20 mi
wii: 100 mil
wii u: probably 20 mil
It certainly was a sales fluke.
