Why can't we just have both. Does it always need to be black or white? There are so many nice colors in between!

You can! Just buy the new console, sell the digital card, and use that money to buy the disk version. Better yet, give the digital card for me and I will send of box of tasty sweets put a picture of you on the wall and smile at it every day.
It seems like the way things are going is digital distribution. A while back they had digital cards of the Skyrim inclusion on a 360 package like 2 years ago.
Also, I loaned my nephew my Wii this weekend and the games were just another extra box of things to move. Hopefully he will have a great time with it.

I also use digital games, but if I have the choice, I prefer a disc. I just don't believe that discs have to die. I think both can co-exist quite well. Also, I don't like the thought that one day you can't buy games anymore at a local store. In a full digital world, retailers won't sell them because the platform holders will want to maximise their profits. After all, not havong to pay retailers is one of the main points of digital distribution. With no games to offer, retailers will also stop to sell the hardware. Why should they bother? They make little to no profit with that. I still remember the PS3. retailers in germany had to pay 624 € for it. If they sold it for 599, they got a 25 € voucher from Sony. Pretty crazy.
Digital is cool and all, but in a digital only future, I will likely quit gaming altogether. Wouldn't be so bad as there are enough games for me to play until all eternity right now. But it still would make me kinda sad.

Now for that particular bundle (just to get a little back to topic :P) I think it's totally fair to put it in digitally. After all, you get the game "for free" (you don't, but it's like with those PS Plus games. They are not technically free, but it feels that way. You get the whole idea :P). Collector's still have the chance to get it in a box if they truly want, so I'm fine with that.
