Forums - Nintendo - Smash Brothers has killed my desire to play video games...

@OT: No I can really not relate to that situation. If there's a game I'm really psyched for, I usually try my best to play other games to make the time pass.
Also, I've never in my life encountered a game with that kind of hold over me, I always get tired after a few hours or days.

I will feel the same way once brawl is a week away from release, but right now i'm playing medal of honor 2 online to keep me busy.

I simply just hoped popular and appropriate characters like Midna and Krystal included, there is no reason either couldn't have made the grade. Also since they said there was room for a third 3rd party character most of us assumed there would be one.

Dissapointed or not, Everyone in this thread expected a larger roster, stop kidding yourselves. I'm not that bothered by it, nor should anyone else, but to say I was unphased by it would have just been a lie. Honestly I'm bothered more by Wolf's Final Smash than the roster, but even then that's not a big deal what-so-ever.

I don't appreciate the fact everyone here assumes my comment on the issue means I had wide eyed expectations of everything from Sephiroth to George W. Bush being in this game. I may make fantasy roster threads, but that's more food for thought and something to do in the mean time until this game comes out.

Okay, there are 39 characters selectable from the menu of this game, compared to 26 from Melee, and 12 from 64. The increase in roster size was larger when you consider that there were 5 worthless characters from Melee removed, making a total increase of 18 characters.  Not only that, but the quality of increase was much better.

We got completely unique characters like Olimar who are far too strange to have ever made it in Melee or 64 were most characters were largely derivative. And yes, I actually predicted 35-40 characters, and we got 35 character icons and 39 characters with different movesets. So no, I'm not kidding anyone, I'm just not ignorant of the Smash franchise like you are.

I think Smash 64 only had 12 characters but I'm not completely sure. Even so I think a roster of 25/26 in Melee was pretty large for a game like this. Anyone expecting that roster to double or whatever is a little too hopeful.

But if you're disappointed with the size of the roster, fine, I really have something against all the people complaining that Mega Man or Ridley didn't make the cut. The Metroid fans have been especially annoying about it claiming they wont buy the game because you can't select a gigantic bird.

If you feel the roster is lacking then surely you must feel that the game makes up for it with the inclusion of 38903494 different modes and ways to play.

I hope you can get through this difficult time for you.
may the smash be w. you like RolStoppable Says

I'm like that currently with CoD4. I rented Mass Effect and Rock Band, neither could pull me away for more than short periods of time.

SMash Bros. is the next game i'll be buying

I'm listening to the Brawl OST right now...it's so badass. I need this game NOW.

I need the Brawl and SMG OST, and I WANT the Brawl a más no poder.

Yeah, the brawl soundtrack rocks so hard. There are just too many awesome tracks on there.

If you want it, links to filefactory can be found on page 3 of the new "official brawl thread". I'll see if I can't find that to link it.

edit: here we go, it's about 3 quarters down, by naz, right above the long list of songs. The whole brawl OST.
