If anyone wants the cliff notes, he said... anything less than 1080p/60 fps is not true next gen and people shouldn't bother upgrading. LULZ!

I don't agree, but I respect his opinion.

If people really cared about having the best performance they would play all multiplats on a high end PC. The people making a big deal over which console has better multiplats are insecure fanboys trying to justify their purchase to themselves.

That being said The Witcher 3 will be one of the early defining games of this gen and will look and play great on every platform.

Hogwash, most PC's cannot run the eitcher 3 at those settings, not everyone wants to game on PC, and many games don't ever come to PC.

People should know the difference between each version, if can influence which one to buy. Performance and IQ are important in gaming.

Build a better PC then because the best PC's are already more powerful than PS4 and the gap will only get bigger. Most third party games do go to PC. The only exceptions seem to be Destiny and some of the Japanese games.

Btw I don't care about which versions are better. Just calling people out for being hypocrites.

I'd say its actually a majority of Japanese games, and you failed to mention exclusives.  Also there is a fair amount notable third party releases that don't get released on PC, like GTAV.

Same thing could apply to PS4 owners whenever Titanfall is brought up.

Titanfall is a launch window game, the disparity between the consoles is forever(for all intents and purposes)

Also, Xbox 360

Maybe for Ryse, Forza, DR3, or Fable Legends, and Halo 5 I'd get an Xbox One, but I can play Titanfall on pc with a PS4 controller. But its common knowledge that the xb1 is most expensive console and is weaker than its direct competitor. So PC's being more powerful than consoles which is common knowledge also doesn't change the fact that its overpriced and I'd rather wait for a pricecut.

I mean you should get what you pay for. So you had better find someway to make up for the $100 + Power difference.

Wow. How far up CDPR's ass is this writer?

Still I find it shocking how so many self proclaimed "game journalists" don't get the issue. They're always looking at it from an isolated perspective. They claim to be above the issue yet they are not better than the fanboys.

If they go shop for a toaster and they find 2 models for about the same price. One of which can make the toast in 30 seconds and the other in 60 seconds. If the price and quality of the toast is the same then every single customer who values his money would take the faster toaster. Not because 30 seconds matter that much but because the better value.

Like 360 owners last gen?

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

I am so tired of devs and gamers alike saying gameplay>graphics to justify lower res and framerate.

Those two fall under the performance category, not really the graphics one. If these people truly believed what they were saying, witcher 3 would run at 1080p 60fps but with the visuals of a PS2 game.

What CD projekt RED really believe is graphics>performance. There's nothing wrong with it, but I fudging hate how no one ever just says that. Instead they pull the trash in the op and get reactions like "A sentiment that any true gamer should agree with."

It's as if they want us to give them a medal cause the game can't hit 1080p.

Well said. If gameplay matters most, reduce the visual effects and deliver a smooth running, clearly visible game.
What do god rays and motion blur add to gameplay that resolution and frame rate do not?

The mentality of publishers is screenshots first. They don't depend on frame rate, can be rendered at 4k on dev kits and scaled down for previews.

That's all about gameplay right, hypocrits.

It would be wonderful if people just used the differences solely to influence their purchase. Instead, its generally fodder for childish arguments.

"I'm not content with what your machine offers, so now I have to bother you about it!"

*looks at sig*

lol.

I love how now it's all about gameplay, not graphics. Those who said the same thing last gen were called casuals...

By the way, I really like this bit

"On the other hand, a game can’t run better than the hardware that’s running it. Some gamers would rather point to a developer for creating a game with shoddy performance in lieu of assessing their current hardware setup."

There goes your answer. If a game doesn't run at the resolution or frame-rate you want, is not because of the dev but the crappy machine you have.
