Where did I say that you were anti Sony? But implying that anyone who talks positive about Sony is a Sony fan is just the mindset that I'm talking about above. I'm not a Sony fan but I like Sony as they have shaped my childhood, but I owned a N64, a GC, XBOX and X360 (and so far no next gen consoles) so talking with someone who takes for granted that the people he's "facing" are forcefully fanboys is not something that's relevant to me compared to the time I'll lose answering.

So your fact is Wii won January NPD and was selling the whole month for Japan, and it's still behind a million consoles of the PS4 as of February 1st.

damn,i though for sure xone was a legit lock for #2 as much as the ps4 is a lock for #1 for this generation. it will be a dog fight with the wiiu this generation for that second spot like the ps360 vs the wii. ps3 beating the xone is telling, vita again above the wiiu, sony domination

it has overtraked 3DS for i think 3 months now (worse one being Nov) but WiiU was Undertracked by alot in Dec

But it's not just doing well in comparison to the current group of consoles. It's doing better than nearly every other console that's ever been launched. Considering that many believe the console market is shrinking for a console to do that well is great.

This console generation right now is just too expensive.

3DS is holding pretty strong at 141k but if you dropped the price of all 3 models by $30, sales would be around 200k, maybe even more. The DS only sold 20 million in its first 2 years and that was with games like NSMB, Nintendogs, and Mario Kart. Once they came out with the much nicer DS Lite for $149 and dropped the fat model to $119 is when the console really started to take off. I really think that lowering the price by $30 - $40 could send the 3DS to over 100 million numbers. The fact that it has sold 43 million in the tablet era and with the price point it has is pretty amazing as it is.

Wii U is out of nearly everyones price range that isn't a big Nintendo fan. It's a nice console with some really good titles and some great titles on the way. Alot of people already know that. $299 is just too much though. Wii launching at $250 is one of the biggest reasons why it did so great. It wasn't crazy expensive to start, and once it dropped to $199 it started doing insane numbers. Just yesterday a store on ebay posted 1100 Mario Wii U Bundles for $270 and they sold out within 2 hours. At $250 with Mario Kart, I think the console could really start to find its groove.

Xbox One is the same deal. $499 is the price that only the most hardcore Xbox fans are willing to pay. Otherwise who really has $500 laying around, to drop on a game console, especially when nearly all of the games are already on the consoles we all already own.

PS4 is in good shape right now. The key will be 1. How big of a hit it is in Japan, and 2. Can they keep the momentum up in Europe and the U.S. over the course of the next 6 - 8 months. I just don't see the software coming for sustained momentum. Infamous 2 came out in 2011 on the PS3 and only sold 1.65 million. Even if the new one does really well, it's max is still only about 2.5 million lifetime. Looking at other racing game sales, Driveclub is probably going to be a flop. You stack that with the fact that Titanfall and Mario Kart are coming soon, and it will be interesting to see what happens.

Vita needs games that appeal to the west. It's doing solid numbers in Japan, but there are alot of japanese titles so it makes sense. Not sure what Sony could do other then beg Rockstar to make GTA but it needs to do something. It's also not exactly cheap either, but even with a much lower price, I am not sure it would do much without a better library to go along with it.
