He's not wrong, where are all those gamers that the Wii brought in? They moved on to the next big thing like smartphones and tablets. Sony brought in core gamers with the PS1 and PS2 and they have stayed in gaming. Most Wii gamers left a long time ago and have no interest in consoles.

Nah whole industry doom threads because the PS4 is apparently doing terrible compared with the Wii first year.

OT: Pretty bad sales since all the companies refused to price drop anything. Wii U $300 seems too much but is fine until it gets more SW. PS3 and 360 $200+ is too much with many SKUs over half the price of PS3. Vita $200 is too much when you have to buy memory cards.

FFXIII probably overtracked as it is a JRPG, but sold more then I expected.

What, wow? That makes perfect sense, the Wii pulled in tons of people that normally weren't interested in console games and that have by now almost entirely lost their interest in console gaming, what would you call that if not an artificial market inflation?

I even point him to article where PS4 had a 1 million consoles lead over the Wii as of February 1st.

I even told him and that those Wii numbers had a whole month of January sales. Those numbers also had december sales for Japan and PS4 still has a 1 million leads with 0 consoles in Japan...

third parties developers != consumers.

..third party developers would be better off with 1 console than with 3 just like the movie industry was better off when HD DVD died.  and fragmentation isn't exactly great on consumers either you know.   imagine if you had to buy 3 phones to be able to communicate with all regions of the world.   and besides, we have presidence,.. the ps2 was the most awesome console ever created.

What freaking consumer standards? Also you should maybe think about your standards abit, here are the numbers for the same week for all consoles we've tracked here:

Wii: 216,776 ($250)

PS4: 124,314 ($400 and with stock clearly being withheld for the japanese launch)

And you seriously believe that the PS4 isn't selling well?

Fact 1:PS4 fastest selling console.  Which means when compared to other lauch in history in the same time frame it has sold most then any other console. I just posted you the link but I am guessing you would rather ignore it and try some spin of your own.

Why it didnt beat Wiis first January NPD?? I m guessing you at least read all those threads about PS4 being sold out everywhere and pretty fast. I know you are quickly going to say so was the Wii that only means that Wii had more stock in January then PS4 in january as they were both sold out.
