This▲. I have played about 6 hours of the game on PC and I found it mildly fun. I usually reserve playing FPSs on PC since I prefer M+K/B in FPS games. I do not own an XB1 or a 360 (sold my 360 a few years ago) and I own a PS4. My complaints about the game have ZERO to do with the platform(s) it is available on. Even if it was on PS4 I wouldn't buy the game.
The game is CoD combat training with mechs, jet packs and parkour. That's not a knock against the whole game as I enjoy CoD (though I didn't get CoD Ghosts) and I enjoy the mech and asymetrical aspect of the games infantry combat. My complaints are the brain dead AI, the ugly texture work, and the very low player count.
I have read all the endorsements defending these "shortcomings" and I just don't agree with them and keeping those things in mind while I played the Beta didn't take away the cheap feeling I got while I was murdering bots to get my Titan every match. I know the game is supposed to be accessible for newer players as well as superior players but after getting to level 14 I just felt like any of the accolades, challenges, unlocks I earned were meaningless. It feels like they could have found a way to work in more human players while limiting the number of Titans on screen (even though I know they want everyone to have access to a mech) to accomodate for more playing styles and to avoid having to use AI enemies. Heck, if they could have at least made the AI better it would have gone a long ways to making the game more satisfying.
I understand why some people like the game its not a "bad" game game but the hype I personally believe is way outstripping the actual quality and fun of the game. The game is in no way revolutionary or a game changer in terms of the genre. It's a solid FPS with interesting mechanics (none of them are new by any stretch of the imagination) that are limited by the visionary contraints of the creators. Maybe when they figure out how to work in more players (which I don't see why they couldn't on PC at least) and/or better the AI in TF2 I might be willing to plunk $60 but as of right now I am skipping it and I'll keep playing the FPS games I already have.
