Yeah this and their inexperience in PC development (but I think they are talented enough to learn quickly and maybe then understand why third parties don't like porting to Nintendo consoles) is something Nintendo has to consider. But itt's better than them unlikely being a third party developer for Sony and Microsoft and fragmenting their fanbase by doing so like Sega
And Blizzard is doing fine, but they have the online DRM... which should be more acceptable in three years when going digital will be more mainstream and convenient.

How so?

1. Sony and Microsoft systems are always above Nintendo consoles launch prices. And they add stuff most Nintendo games don't really need to their hardware to dramatically increase the price. The only time Nintendo only added something to their hardware that affected the price was the GamePad for Wii U. Sure some people didn't like the Wii controller, but it was still $250.
2. Nintendo has to be multiplatform or might put some games into Xbox or Playstation only. This fragment Nintendo's franchises. And Nintendo lesser selling series won't get a big boost as other would think. Why would Metroid suddenly sell better on Xbox than on a Nintendo console when the entry price to Nintendo console was so low in the first place? And to be honest, Nintendo games probably aren't really that great to the typical Xbox and Playstation fans. Only us gamers that go on forum really take time to look up other games. Most people only own one console not two like they do in this site. And the problem with multiplatform is that Nintendo has to make sure both games are played equally well or the Playstation or Xbox fan will get a negative impression of Nintendo games on their system
3. Online isn't free. It may be better but most Nintendo games didn't need that much online content in the first place to sell a lot. The only exception may be Pokemon
4. Nintendo has to learn a new game program and can't control the type of controller the Playstation and Xbox can have. With PC, they can bundle a controller with a retailer game that will work for it. This is good because consumers only pay for the game and the controller and not the game machine. It's usually difficult to sell add on (except Balance Board, Wii Wheel, Zapper, or anything Wii related because Nintendo got to control that! Kinect is the only add on that isn't Nintendo that sells well) on home consoles.
