There likely wont be a pricecut for a while. First priority for Nintendo is making a profit on each Wii U sold. In addition, Iwata has stated that a pricecut was not the solution multiple times.

You can wait for sales if you want but that is entirely up to you...

all depends how deep your pockets are really. i don't wait to say a few bux if I can afford it and want to play something even if it is just 1 game.

The difference with this is that the Wii U is currently being sold at a loss while the 3DS at the time was being sold at a profit. In addition, the performance of the Wii U during the time it was out on the market suggests a problem that can't be fixed with a simple price cut. If they can drop the cost of components, then a price cut will most likely happen, but if not then there's a risk of actually doing worse financially when you cut the price. 

You've made this conclusion based off only four weeks? This year has much bigger titles which will likely appeal to gamers outside of NIntendo's core fanbase. I see no reason to believe that it will do worse than last year when all is said and done.

Super Mario 3D world, NSMBU, Pikmin 3 , Windwaker, W101 and Zombi U are alone worth buying a Wii U for. Donkey Kong is out next week and that looks excellent also. Iwata has stated there will be no Wii U price cuts, but even at its current price is great value for money. The gamepad is excellent, you are getting a console bundle with great games, and a tablet controller represents value for money in my eyes.

The choice is yours though....

considering you can already get a wiiU for less than $250 it's already pretty affordable. but with there, imo, only being 4 good games available and 3 of them haven't launched yet it seems pretty reasonable to wait a while.

Buy it now and play Donkey Kong

We just have to hope that this will be the worst WiiU year ever. I want a cheap one too.
