Wii U's online is actually just fine. The fact that it doesn't have a dedicated service such as Xbox Live, seems to bother some folks. But otherwise, the notion that Wii U has "bad" online, is a myth.

Wait people want to 'Pay for online?"

Thats just trash talk. It works, it has an online shop, its as good as everyone else's. Does it realy matter if it loads one second faster?

The only thing they say the new consoles will have is dedicated servers for MMO's. But to be honest, in Japan the Wii U has an MMO aswell. Dragon Quest X.

Therefore... yeah its trash talk. I am sure there are different ammounts of infrastructure development, but its not something that clearly comes across to the consumer side.

This. You're only trash talking dude. Show me how it is a generation behind.

Integrity.

The Quality of the product you present to people

I mean you want them to enjoy it right?

Do you even read what you write? How is adding online multiplayer to 3D World going to destory it's integrity? It's an extra option you can easily ignore and never touch. I'm not sure why it would ruin anybody's enjoyment of the game.

Because it'd be a glitch ridden mess with players moving all over the damn map. PLatformers are frame by frame games. Those dont work online. They're those pixel perfect types of games. Are you even aware of how online works for games? Do you know how FPS's work online? Fighters? God dammit people, educate yourselves

Play 3D World through an Xbox One and even that affects the game.

Heck some people even have problems playing 3D World locally. Online it'd be a hell fest. You need to design the phsyics in a completely different manner ala trine 2 if you want a competent online platforming game.

You think 4 players playing online at the same time is going to lead to a glitch ridden mess? I could go on Planetside 2 and play with thousands on one server and you think Nintendo can't pull of 4? I think you're the one who has no idea how online works for games.

Omfg  are you serious? Have you ever played an FPS online? Do you know the  amount of coding that goes into the illusion of what you see? Of how the games physics interact?

You cant do that in a platformer, fighting games do this form of " netcode cheating" too. They hide them (input reactions, changes, all sorts of calculations that go into this) directly in the animation phases.

When I say a platformer is a frame by frame game I mean the game calculates it directly to each frame.  Have you even played 3D World in co-op, with 4 characters who cant coordinate your going all over the place while you sit in a bubble off screen. Thats not fun. And the game renders 20 characters on one screen at a time max ( double cherry limit)

Stop being ignorant, READ. The link I gave you offers you some insight into it,have some initiative and go look shit up instead of making a fool out of yourself.

This would not be a problem as long as everyone sees their own screen online. I'm not sure why you think it's so impossible for a platformer to have online multiplayer in this day and age.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Although this is a troll poll i agree with him. 3D World should have online multiplayer as an option. If you dont like it you dont need to touch it cause its an OPTION. Even if its buggy you release fixes and patches to fix it, its demonstrated in almost every online game and that is no reason to refuse to put an option that real fans were asking for. Nintendo is known for taking advantage of their hardware the most and raising the bar in terms of standards when it comes to gameplay and graphics (although they have not since the Wii). There are no logical excuses as to why they could make mini game experiences in abundance that no one asked for (warioware, wii party u and Nintendoland <----although this one was surprisingly good) yet cant figure out how to put an optional feature in a game.

I dont care about online. Im telling you people what goes into the ACTUAL dESIGN OF THE GAME AND YOU"RE NOT LISTENING.

READ GOD DAMMIT. http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/186457/One_way_to_tackle_online_multiplayer_in_platforming_games.php

I could care less about whether or not it has online, Im telling people the reason platforming games dont have fucking online modes to begin with.

So youre saying Nintendo is incompetent. Sure they can put ghost miis that move around the screen but no real players are impossible. There is a reason why they dont listen to their real fans, because people keep defending the most ridiculous things they have been doing. Dont be surprised if swapnote never comes back on 3DS and Metroid, Star Fox gets treated like Earthbound and they forget about it and never make a sequel. you will have only yourselves to blame.

FFS, people Im telling you why there arent any platformers around with competent online. PERIOD. Platformers dont work in a manner that is conducive to online play. This is due entirely to how they're designed. You can't cheat the physics in a platformer like that. Its extremely difficult to try and code a solution that works and is enjoyable.  That's why online platformers like Trine 2 and LBP arent challenge platformers, they're puzzle games.

Why dont you get that? Fuck it, accept your always online future of Megaman not working;.

This is you right now.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPwoT_--9qY&feature=c4-overview

This is your swapnote future.

Starfox is a SHMUP. Do you expect them to release that now instead of later?

THIS IS WHAT SELLS http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=178108&page=1#

Im sorry if you cant accept them wanting to send a franchise out to die man.

Let them reinvent starfox when its time.

He's saying its not easy to optimise that into a platformer because you have to be very precise when jumping or hitting. Online lag doesn't help that.

It may be difficult but it's not impossible. Nintendo has some of the most talented dev teams in existence, I'm pretty sure they can figure out how to get online multiplayer working for a platformer.

They would be the first. Not even Rayman Legends can get online co-op and that's 2D.

They'd have to make an entirely different game for that /___/

You could argue that they're selfish for making that kind of Mario game instead

You Reeeeeeeeeaaaaaaally don't know much about the Wii U, right? It supports a Nintendo Network Id, gamefriends numbers day are over.

well the service is so horrible, I gave up on it. I play the Wii U but the online is a joke, lets be honest.
