No, you're missing the point.

A large amount of 7th generation console ports on PC actually had fantastic textures even a couple of years ago, they weren't muddy.
This is the comparison point I am trying to make, comparing both on the PC with everything on max.
I couldn't care less about the consoles, they aren't my primary gaming platform.

As for the textures, I'm pretty sure only the Xbox version had the reduced textures, the PC didn't hence why they were compared in the first place.
If you wan't proper, clear and crisp textures, take a look at CGI's PC screenshots thread.
I'll start you off with Metro.

Also, don't look past Oblivion (Early Xbox 360/PS3 title), Skyrim, Fallout 3, GTAIV, Crysis, FarCry for open-world games that, once modded and despite being several years old, will put Titanfall to shame, heck, Morrowind even has Tessellation on the PC and that game was released during the PS2 era, Source engine doesn't even use it.

Fixed, just like destructable environments.

Source engine has Tessellation capability.
Destructable environments would be a bit of stretch. :P Not many engines use that anyway.

And I'm pretty sure that version of Tessellation isn't Direct X compliant, but rather done in software, hence why it's used sparingly.
But, the source engine is modular, so it *could* in theory be added in.

That's what I mean, software solution on Xbox one would murder it.

No, you're missing the point. I wasn't discussing PC gaming. If I was talking about PC gaming I would have said PC gaming and not 7th gen.

You jumped into a discussion you probably weren't closely following.

PC hardware has generations too.

Doesn't matter, when I said 7th gen I was referring to consoles.

Its silly to lump in PC gaming in that dicussion for obvious reasons.

Yeah why would I care about PC gaming??? We are talking about current Gen versus last Gen of consoles... I hardly think the 360 version will be in par with the x1 version... Unless they did terrible programming.... Just on raw spec it is preposterous... Cause the gap between x1 and 360 makes the gap between PS4 and x1 looks ridiculous... Yet people around here clearly see the difference, or so they say....

Well until they actually show us 360 footage we wont know.

"DUH!  What else could be measured?"

And that's the thing, you originally said Titanfall looks like a last gen game. However, the 360 version will not look as polished. The X1 version will likely have the smoother frame rate, sharper textures, better lighting, less pop up, etc.

No, I don't own a PS4 and my PC isn't great. Not that it matters.

Except Titanfall has low textures, resolution, player count, nearly no physics or particle effects, and the framerate can't even keep a solid 60.  See the difference?

So you don't have a PS4 or powerful gaming PC.  So you don't even know the difference.  Hey I'm sure that gif in your signiture makes you feel better about yourself though!

I downloaded the high resolution videos of Titanfall and those textures look pretty sharp. I saw some physics, shadows were more impressive than I expected, the maps seem large and detailed, but I didn't really look for any of those particles.

That's because there are none.  In Killzone I noticed an enemy above me because his bullet casings were tumbling off of a rock in front of me and then rolling down a hill.  Nothing even close to that kind of detail is in Titanfall.

Is Titanfall the only game that struggles to maintain 60 fps? Last I checked BF4, Tomb Raider, and KZ Shadowfall's multiplayer all go well below 60 fps.

Yeah but they don't look like garbage.

Even if the player count is only 12 players, I feel like you're ignoring the ~38 NPC characters on the map.

And I feel like you are ignoring the 24 possible NPC's (Drones, Turrets, Buddy Bots) in Shadowfall in adittion to the 24 REAL people.

Right, I have to own a PS4 or a powerful PC to know and see the difference. That's a great argument and like the smartest thing I've heard ever.

Um, yeah.  Look I used to think flying first class was a total waste.  Then as a result of lucky circumstances I got to fly first class from chicago to NYC.  It was WAYYYYY nicer than I expected, and while I certainly don't have the money to fly 1st class, I would if I reasonably afford it.  There is a VERY real difference.  I just didn't know it like you dont't.

Excuses, excuses, excuses! <3<3<3

Your arguments have some holes and ignore some painfully obvious details. Anyhow, its a step up from last gen and that was the argument. But I bet you forgot what our original discussion was about because you're ranting now. Its fucking adorable!

Ah well, I got my Titanfall betacode, I hope you got yours. I look forward to seeing you in future Titanfall threads spreading joy.
