You should be terrible at shooters...
I've been playing a lot of games on my tablet lately, I find it a real mixed bag. It depends on the type of game and how well the developer has utilized the touch screen controls. Example, Shadowguns touch screen controls are spot on but Nova 3s suck. I just use a ps3 controller ( cheaper than Moga).

This is exactly what I'm talking about. Just aiming. Not the left analog stick.
In other words, my perfect controller would have a left analog stick and a right touch pad.

Perhaps you should give mouse and keyboard a try....
The thing is, kids today grow up with those nasty touchscreen controls. They won't miss a thing no matter what genre. If they cling onto "real" consoles when they grow older remains to be seen. But it could very well be the case that classic games will die eventually to be replaced by touchscreen games altogether.
Well, we still have at least 20 years to go until such a horrible scenario would become true. So I say let's get the most out of it while we can.

Well I think playing smartphone games in general is bad unless it's a "tap" game, capacitive touch screens just suck for games like FPSs and what not, though I agree that I prefer a left analog stick and a right touchpad, that's why I enjoy Metroid Prime Hunters a lot even though it came out like 8 years ago (over a 1000 hours put in), the controls are just perfect IMO.
I hate it when people use their lack of skill and their preference for an easy control method my gran could use to blame console controls.
I have the same problem with inverted controls, but I dont go around saying its worse, because im sure they make more sense to use for other people.
