Well, some people don't like Mario Kart. I don't get these citizens.

However, to most people, Mario Kart is a real system seller. Not having the games and stumbling out of the gate is what has/is hurting the Wii U. I chose "Yo Mama" in the poll as that sums up my feelings well.

There are people that don't like Mario Kart?  Yeah, right.....

Maybe, maybe not.

I would say no, but then the 3ds has a version of monster hunter and getting a version of smash bros and I think even mario kart, all that adding in with how handheld and mobile gaming seem to appease quite a bit of people, are making it real hard to want a wii u.

Thanks jlmurph!

It's Nintendo's job to understand how to manage their own resources. If they honestly didn't think about HD development requirements even after Microsoft, Sony, and other third party companies provided examples of this years ago, that's all on them.

The 3DS hurts the Wii U because the people think: ' I do not need a Wii U. I can play Mario and the others on my 3DS.' Yes, that hurts the Wii U sales but it isn't the main reason. It is about opportunities. On the handheld market you can choose between the Vita and the 3DS. This is not so easy in the homeconsole sector and there are different target groups. All the kids want to have a gameboy, a DS or a 3DS -> more sales.

I don't hate Microsoft, I don't hate PC,
I don't prefer Sony, I don't prefer Nintendo.
...Ok, I love Nintendo but this is something about tolerance, ok?

I'm a gamer with one of the greatest hobbies and I want to share this greatness with everyone.

The WiiU is its own problem, it has yet to make its case to consumers. Anyone interested in a 3DS doesn't necessarily need to care about the WiiU. It doesn't add or subtract sales, not to a significant degree anyway. In terms of development the output for the 3DS will always be higher due to scope.

This, there not even the same product. They dont even share the same games.  I swear people are really trying to make excuses for why WIi U isnt doing hot. Its simple...people dont want it, crippling the 3ds wont help

The 3DS is doing great. It is the best selling current gen console, and Nintendo's 1st party is churning out one amazing game after another for the handheld like there's no tomorrow. Therein perhaps lies the problem though. Have they been using too much of their resources making games for the 3DS rather than the Wii U?

Although Nintendo said they were caught off guard by the time it took develop HD games, there is a huge disparity between the amount of games that came out for the 3DS compared to the Wii U. Are too many of Nintendo's 1st party studios focusing on the 3DS as opposed to the Wii U? What do you think?

First off, it's not the best selling current gen console, it's a HANDHELD. The best selling current gen console is PS4. Second, no, it's not the problem. The DS was selling much better and the Wii sold 100 million units.

People just need to chill. I own a Wii-U, it's fun and Miiverse is the best online community of all three. It's just not going to sell that well because it's a niche product. It'll make a profit, and all will be well and Nintendo will be fine.

Dumbasses should have had games at launch. If they did, non of this would have happened.

DS and Wii were vastly different, for one DS was mostly 2D with a select few 3D games while Wii could handle 3D games well. Also DS has touch controls and Wii had motion controls.

Compare that to 3DS vs Wii U. Both can comfortably handle 3D graphics, both offer dual screen gameplay, both have touch controls and motion capabilites. To ur typical consumer, Wii U could simply seem like an HD home version of 3DS. Also many of the current and upcoming big hitters for Wii U are very similar to the 3DS version.

Mario 3D Land vs Mario 3D World, NSMB2 vs NSMBU, Ocarina of Time 3D vs Wind Waker HD, DKC Returns vs DKC Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 7 vs Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros 3D vs Smash Bros U and both have Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Lego City Undercover, Sonic Lost World. Then u have to take into account other big games on 3DS like Pokemon X/Y, Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion, Monster Hunter 4, Zelda Link Between Worlds, Paper Mario, Mario & Luigi, Fire Emblem, Nintendogs, Mario Party, Kirby, Mario Tennis, Mario Golf, Yoshi New Island, Kid Icarus, Kingdom Hearts, Bravely Default, and it costs about 1/2 of the Wii U.

Im not trying to say 3DS is the sole reason why Wii U is struggling but its very possible it plays a role in it. If ur just looking for a Nintendo/RPG fix then 3DS is the perfect gaming device. Wii U will be fine tho, It just needs more defining software and to come down in price.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

I think the real reason why the WiiU isn't selling as much as it should is because the price is just a little too high att. If they would drop the price to 250 I think those interested in it wouldn't think twice about buying it.
