You already have more than a million gap between x1 and ps4, in just two and a half months. If the x1 doesn't drop 100$ fast, what will the gap be by then end of the year?

I'm not arguing with any of the rest but, yes, Playstation is a stronger brand than Xbox. The sales rate of the PS3 is much higher than that of the Xbox 360, which means that it has been more popular through most of it's life-cycle. Historically, it's been more popular than the 360 just about everywhere except the UK and the USA, not just Japan--and even the UK and USA might be shifting back. I don't think there is any real question that the Xbox brand hasn't caught up to Playstation or Nintendo (as a brand).
The article isn't wrong but it's way overblown. I don't think the $100 deal is really that big of a sign that MS is really worried about the PS4. I have little doubt they are quite worried about it though.

the last point made says could in it, as in the writer is speculating based on past events. You just say he is wrong, based on?
Okay after reading the second paragraph it's clear you didn't read the portion of the OP how they say it isn't different from trading it in but doing that with a bit of public jabbing at their rivals in the market.

That $499 price tag is a killer. Every store had a ton of PS3's in stock shortly after the holidays when it launched because of its price and the fact that there were hardly any games for it in the early days. For M$ to repeat the exact same mistakes Sony made at the beginning of the last generation is mind boggling.
