I'm not arguing with any of the rest but, yes, Playstation is a stronger brand than Xbox. The sales rate of the PS3 is much higher than that of the Xbox 360, which means that it has been more popular through most of it's life-cycle. Historically, it's been more popular than the 360 just about everywhere except the UK and the USA, not just Japan--and even the UK and USA might be shifting back. I don't think there is any real question that the Xbox brand hasn't caught up to Playstation or Nintendo (as a brand).
