Sony doesn't make casual games?

In my opinion the Wii was the absolute low point for Nintendo. Financially it was not a failure obviously but quality wise it absolutely was. I do not think the Wii U is a failure as a console though, Nintendo just has not managed it properly |
Hmm, I can see what you mean. I mean if you compare the Wii library to the Gamecubes...what've you got? The Galaxies, a couple Zeldas, one good Metroid game (and one not good one), a successful Smash Bros., a successful Mario Kart, a new RPG in Xenoblade, and that's about it in terms of new classics, all in an era when innovative hardware was supposed to create new gameplay. Wii U, when I first heard the name and Nintendo's explanation of it, sounded like an apology for the Wii, like they knew it was a failure in its own way. Unfortunately, though the Wii U started in the right direction, Nintendo fumbled it horribly. Better marketing and much more research and planning in advance in terms of how to develop HD games would probably have changed everything. They've publicly recognized both of those problems, and have already started planning, so I think greatness awaits us next gen with Nintendo.

If hes talking only about UK then i can agree with him. Otherwise, this is just propaganda.

Is that why their stock prices are almost 1/5th of what they were in 2008? :P
Back then they had 2 massively popular and financially successful consoles. Now they have a home console that's thus far been a colossus failure, and a handheld that has been unable to live up to it's predecessor in either software or hardware. I'd say that fits in with the definition of "decline" quite well.
I'm not saying Nintendo are doomed or anything, i'm sure they will find a way, but you're just plain wrong if you think they are stronger than ever.

Although I do think Nintendo is currently struggling and not in the strongest position, I just wanted to give you a shout out cause of your avatar. I grew up listening to Nirvana and Alice in Chains amongst other great bands of that era, so WHATTAAAP!

OT: No thanks, Sony. You make things like EyePet and Wonderbook and it does horribly. Just stop and focus on what you do well. |
They don't need eyepet or wonderbook, they need Jak,Sly,Rachet,Crash...games like that and in bunches. The PS1 and PS2 had them in spades but the PS3 saw a drastic decline in games for everyone and now with PS4, almost nothing so far.

Nintendo is NOT in decline. WiiU is a failed product. Thats it, they will move on and be successful again with ease. |
Your blind optimism is uplifting. Truly, it is.

Failed with wii? I'm hoping more people call out this out.
