Doesn't change a thing, you're just trying to deflect for MS sake. Point still stands.. They even manged to mess up the one area its almost impossible to in windows, when you have a monopoly how do you launch such loathed OS's? Game for windows live was another colossal mistake of not knowing the consumers needs. X1 reveal was a major blunder..and on and on.

 

Sony has been mismamaged, I admit that, not sure why some find it so hard to see MS has fallen behind and made many mistakes the last 10 + years,.

Ok so we agree, good. You sound defensive, you posted and made it sound like MS rarely make mistakes when they clearly have made a lot of them the last 10 years that is all. Now you talking about gears looking bad or something. Not sure what that has anything to do with anything.

Epic has started this game long ago.
Do you remember Cliffs small but provocative comments before the last Gears was released?
He was saying:"We have a great relationship with MS but-We own the IP not MS.We can release the next Gears on any Plattform we want whenever we want."
This was a massage to MS.And seems MS has reacted because
-just a few weaks later Cliff said:Gears will stay xbox exclusive .
Subtle blackmail imo.

They played the same game again,but this time a little bit bigger(Sony wants the IP but we give it to you).But it was no bad Deal.
Instead of paying 50 mio each time (just a guess but 2 mio + copies is the absolut lowest number gears would have sold on ps3 with a cheap port)
to keep every single Gears exclusive they decided to pay a lot more to get the IP.

but its a win win:Epic coders are fed up with gears,MS needs a system seller + positive "we love the gamer" reputation to make gamers forget TVTVTVTVTV

I never said the deal was shit I was just maybe giving kudos to epic for getting the most money they could for gears.

Makes more sense this kind of maneuver than to think MS as a corporation is clueless and a board of directors would approve a multimillion buying just on impulse. And even more thinking that MS with their monopolistic history and bullish ways would be outwitted by Epic.

OT: I dunno if they "played" M$, but Gears is a declining series that Epic clearly doesn't see much value in anymore, so it makes sense to sell it. I have no idea where M$ is looking to take the series, though. Perhaps they can take the series in new directions - to new heights! I'm sure they didn't buy it without any plans to reinvigorate the series it some way, anyways.
