With Epic Moving on to creating a new game and happy with how the last gears ended did Epic stir up rumors of Gears of War on the PS4 just to get Microsoft to buy the rights.

This to me is a classic example of somebody having something they no longer want but makes you believe that if you dont buy it your competitor will get it.

I dont think Microsoft lost out per say but i do think Epic started the PS4 hype to raise Microsofts offer.

Its possible, we'll probably never know for sure.

As someone who's played every single Gears game I can say for certain that MS got played. That IP is creatively bankrupt.

Epic is better off now focusing on new projects. Black tusk is now forced to take over someones elses creation, cannot see them being happy about that.

I was going to say something similar but i was affraid it would come off as i was bashing Gears which i am not. I'm glad you said it especially since you've played all of them.

I just hope we still get that stealth looking game they teased, need more stealth games.

I heard around $100 million which i think cheap.

To be honest I think Epic made an amazing play here. They understood that gears had a high risk of continuous profit success as shown by Judgement. Selling it to Microsoft and moving on was a good choice.
