Another anonymous source? is this /v/ or something?
But tbh a price drop and a MK8 bundle would be really good for them, also lets not forget SSB4 and DKTF. You get a price drop with all of these games and

Why don't people think Smash should be the last chance? That thing sells alot every generation
PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850
who cares about nindentos numbers in the UK? they are bad anyway, uk is FPS land...
Guessing that anonymous retailer is Tesco. Other one is Zavvi/The Hut?
Anyway, MK8 bundle or not.. it won't make much of a difference in the UK. The console is practially dead in the water over here.

Mario Kart has grown in popularity a lot since then. It didn't really take off since MK DS and MK Wii. "Save" is obviously a relative term, but at any rate the impact should be much greater than for the GC.
DKCTC, Mario Kart 8 will bring a ruhhour in the Shops!!!
Zelda - Breath of the Wild for Nintendo Switch.... Incredable!!!

I've already said what I think of that a few posts above.
Software sells hardware. The opposite is also correct, however.

Problem is - the Wii U is nor Wii nor 3DS. The console needs stable big numbers like either one of the two to sell in any way similar to MKWii or MK7. People: 1) Don't want it as much as either, XBO, PS4, and the last-gen consoles aren't helping one bit 2) Don't even know it's a new console. While the Wii U will surely rise in sales numbers, it will never be quite big, or "saved", provided that saved = even 1/2 of Wii's weekly sales. |
Mario Kart, along with Smash, is one of the most frequently mentioned games that people say they're waiting on to buy a Wii U (if they're interested). Mario Kart is one of those games that people who game almost entirely on Sony/MS platforms say they like.

People also said they were gonna buy a Vita for this and that. How did that turn out?
The hardcore and multiconsole base is too small to make an impact, and that's who you'd generally hear.
