This isn't even diplomatic. EA is just being butthurt now for some strange reason.

Khan down. You don't have to type this kind of response in every Nintendo-EA thread made.

Yup, no hipster tendencies and elitism there. Also, Nintendo is living of former glory, nostalgia and their Wii/DS profits. They are becoming increasingly irrelevant today |
That's based on my own experience. When I was a kid I always wanted to play FPS. And the voice chat in games like COD prove my theory: most kids love to play FPS.
I luckily grew out of it.
Sorry if I don't like the yearly sports titles of EA or Harry Potter/Star Wars shovelware. Doesn't make me an elitist lol.
Give me Star Wars: battlefront 3, I'll play that. As long as it isn't made by EA.

Perhaps correct with Mario, but not necessarily with Metroid Prime or Zelda (at least the Zeldas I played). The world in the latter two is in big part ambience, I feel. Both kids and adults can get into the universes presented in both, if by imagination, or by getting integrated into the games' atmosphere - the backstories, environment, and music, all work toward that purpose. I feel that that is quite universal and quite a bit more mature than some jokes that people present as "mature" games. I could make a side point as to how most war games are just plain immature, but that would really drag on and detract from the above. |
So you believe in maturity eh? Sorry, but I believe in God. God wants us to be his children. The person who wanted us to be mature was Adolf Hitler.

Off the top of my head, Hitler wanted his kids to have the "glare of a wolf" and be the next soldiers or something
I don't necessarily believe in maturity for kids, I just believe that the gaming industry has it wrong for showing some vastly immature content as "mature". Worse yet, many gamers agreeing.
But that is me. EA is not the only one I loathe.
I know I can't speak for most people but I bought a wii u at launch purely for exclusive wii u games and wii compatibility. If there were any multiformat games enhanced on wii u I would consider those too but wasn't expecting many of those. I couldn't have been less interested in Mass Effect 3 when I already had all 3 for 360 and the wii u version was weaker than 360. Utterly pointless.
There may be people out there who bought the wii u as an all round console to replace their existing console but it has to be said that would be a very poor choice. When wii u multiformat games hit the bargain bucket I have bought a few. I bought black ops 2 as it was a tenner, much cheaper than the superior ps3 and 360 versions at the time.
EA half-heartedly supported wii u just in case it took off and then realising it was failing left it to die. You can't blame them. They are just responding to consumer reaction to the wii u.
Wii u is weak hardware it doesn't really excel in any areas apart from the novelty of a touch screen game pad. The reason the wii u has failed is purely down to Nintendo not consumers or software publishers. They totally compromised the design in order to try to make huge profits from weak underpowered hardware. It failed and now Nintendo are in a difficult situation having to sell something which in many ways underperforms compared to 360 and PS3.
I'm not defending EA just feel the blame game should be pointed directly at Nintendo and their mis-management. Was it EA who totally compromised the performance of wii u. Was it EA that removed something as simple as analogue triggers from the gamepad? Was it EA who told them to sell such a low spec console at a hugely inflated price? Was it EA that removed any additional functionality from the console like being a media centre or blur-ray/dvd player?

I could make an awful joke about God wanting us to be children. In my country the Catholic priests have a bad reputation with regards to children...

Yes.. The Wii U is doomed for not getting polished masterpieces like Battlefield 4 and FIFA 14. Clearly missing out. |
Unfortunately for Nintendo, those games are big sellers. And the audience for those games are nowhere to be found on the Wii U.
OT: The wording EA uses may not the best, but the audience for their software don't really align with demographics of Nintendo consoles (look up the Wii U software sales). Nor that of most other third party publishers, it seems.

Nothing, its a good port, but all the kudos from me will go to straight right who handled the port.

What's stopping them from making games that suit the Wii U demographic?
A game similar to Zelda wouldn't sell on other consoles? Or does EA know they're vastly inferior to Nintendo and too afraid to try and make a decent adventure game or 2D/3D platformer?
At least Ubisoft proved they can rival Nintendo when it comes to 2D platformers. In regards to quality that is. Ubisoft should have released that game sooner though, when there weren't many good games on the Wii U. Would've sold much better then in my opinion. Leaving a finished product on the shelves for 7 months wasn't the best decision they made. Too bad Nintendo is doing it as well with Donkey Kong Country: tropical freeze. That game will sell because of its name though.
