Forums - Gaming - CVG: "Nintendo was dead to us very quickly" after the Wii U, says EA source

The Mass Effect was overpriced etc excuses have already been shot down. The PS3 faced similar when Mass Effect 2 released, still sold well. WiiU has no excuse.

Was there a Mass Effect 1+2 2-for-1 deal for the 360 versions at the time?

If not, then your argument is invalid.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Thanks guys. Well if the game was fine, wouldn't it make sense to have legs after it receives some heavy price cuts?
Based on the current prices (http://www.gamecrawler.co.uk/compare/mass-effect-3---special-edition-nintendo-wii-u/B00A76KA3E), why is not selling now? I mean if it's a good game and doesn't have any bugs, it should have sold well in the long run. Oh well. Pricing it at $60 was definitely idiotic.

The game was a good effort, not great but good enough, it was missing some DLC and the capability to get new one. But it was overpriced, they charged 60 and the same week they released the collection for 60 U$. People did not get it because they did not feel the value of the title.

Reasons why it did not sold after that... well many people already played it on other devices, so only those that were never into the franchise will give it a try at a reduced price, right now is the 3rd best selling game for the console on amazon. because is dirty cheap http://www.amazon.com/Mass-Effect-3-Nintendo-Wii-U/dp/B002I0H0FS/ref=lp_4924901011_1_3?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1390417936&sr=1-3 but it was expensive when the options were few, and as it reduced on price so did the collection for the other consoles, now that there are more titles to choose from on Wii U and nobody is paying attention to it.

I have 13 games for my Wii U, but ME3 is not one of them. If I wanted to play the franchise I could get the collection for my PS3 for 32 U$.

That's actually a very interesting analysis. I was unaware of the lack of DLC. Are there any examples of non "kiddie" thrid party games selling well on wiiu? Because if there are enough, I guess EA's statement doesn't hold any water.

EA is dead to me since they destroyed all studios I loved in the 90s.

Out of curiosity. Which large 3rd party publisher is still supporting the Wii U?

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

Battlefield is a thousand times more a kid game than SMB3DW or Wind Waker are, try again EA.

Hmmmm... okay, I see some reasoning in that... NOT. Or is "kid" the new "gay" or something?

Pretending to be a soldier is the old and current "kid".

Enjoying the two other games I mentioned belongs in any age group.

So it's a kids game because a lot of kids play it sorta like they're playing grown-up? I feel EA are not assholes because they called Nintendo games kids games, but because they made it sound like there's something wrong with that. The Wii was a success because it was family friendly, the WiiU actually scared off a lot of that userbase in Nintendo's fruitless attemps of trying to attract "core gamers".

Nintendo games are made with kids and families in mind. If you never had a childhood, or don't have feelings of nostalgia and wanting to feel young again, you wouldn't play them. There's something very positive about having an inner child and if you were forced into maturity early in life, you'd be a much poorer man for it, probably cynical, angry and paranoid. At the very least just boring and dull.

Ubisoft, Warner and Activision.

Battlefield series
Burnout series
Command & Conquer series
Crysis series
Dead Space series
Dragon Age series
FIFA series
Fight Night series
Harry Potter series
Madden NFL series
Mass Effect series
Medal of Honor series
NBA Live series
NCAA Football series
Need for Speed series
NHL series
Rock Band series
SimCity series
The Simpsons series
The Sims series
Skate series
SSX series
Star Wars series

According to wiki those are their game franchises. Why on earth would I want to play any of those games? Most of them are just generic games that get yearly rehashes. Or even worse, licensed games.

I'm not a kid anymore, so I don't play FPS games. Because that's what kids like to do, pretend that they're soldiers. I never understood why people think those games are adult.

I'm pretty sure kids like to play FIFA as much as adults. Kids also like Star Wars games and Harry Potter(which is by the way definitely aimed at kids).

Ok, SSX 3 was a great game, I'll give them that. And I did enjoy the Sims when I was a kid. Haven't played one in ages though, so I don't know how the franchise is doing right now, quality wise that is.

How on earth you can become the third biggest game company with shovelware like that is beyond me. I guess they're just riding on the sucess of big sports like football. And the popularity that FPS sadly still seem to have with the mainstream crowd.

ME2 on PS3 came with all the dlc packs for the game. Also it was upgraded to run on ME3 engine, so you could even some slight graphical enhancements (minor). Also helped that the game dropped to under $20 just months after on a much larger install base.

Depends on your definition of "well", ZombiU did more than 500k units but that was not enough to make money, Call of Duty: BO2 sold around 230k but made money for the company as it was a port, same with Assassin's Creed 3 around 230k and profitable because it was a port.

Masss Effect 3 sold just about 110k, and most of those sales were received after the price went down, it only sold 40k during the first 10 weeks according to VGChartz numbers.

This is one of the saddest posts Ive ever seen in my ENTIRE life. No amount of loyalty warrants this, and you call yourself a gamer? Id rather go back to my PC elitist crowd than be grouped with you guys.
