Yea, it wont achieve DS sales, however, it will achieve quite phenominal sales during its life time, that means success wether the next generation will be effective is the question. You are also predicting that the market norm will continue in this direction. Today, prenium phone and electronic devices are the popular option, however, as MEGA markets such as China and India become larger (actually are already larger) the need for low priced electronic devices will be far more important. the PS4 and XBox one, I do not believe will be able to compete as aggresively in these markets, that I believe the Nintendo can, as it often has much lower prices (thats not saying I am adament on this, as this is only speculation) However, I do understand what your saying, and I agree that if they do not change philosophies soon, then they will certainly have a demise in the future. Gaming has become part of media. It is not its own sole entertainment, and therefor, devices cannot exist solely for gaming and expect large sales from the mass populous. Nintendo must analyze how they maintain to have profit in the long run or income from the 3DS will not allow them to survive a much more competitive market.

However do you think this news is so bad that people are calling doom and must go 3rd party must go to mobiles in about 5 new threads a day?

Remember when you did the Sony financials thread and everyone shot you down and ignored it as meaningless. That was about the extent that "SONY'S" financial doom was talked about. 

I think this is the big difference that he is trying to point out. Do we really need 100s of threads on the same crap when Sony's financial trouble only probably had 1 decent thread and a couple cheaky peole trying to stir up trouble. Hence why I can see why some people would think there is a vendetta against Nintendo.

sorry mate but the Sony hate wasn't anywhere near as bad. When I visited this site 80% of the hot topics where not about Sony doom or wanna be pachter's saying What Sony should do to fix itself.

Now everytime you visit the site at least half the threads in the hot topic are something to do with Nintendo.

It's not the internet. it's just that nintendo have many haters. probably a case of the fox and the grapes. they want nintendo games but don't want their consoles because of no reason.

As in, they  are the odd ones out compared not only to Microsoft and Sony, but also most of the big third party devs.

There was plenty of positive press & love 2006-2010. They are having hard times right now, it's what happens when you make poor decisions. SONY had to also suffer this hate back in the day.

Its because this forum is dominated by Sony fans who will happily root against Nintendo and MS. When either of them announce bad news, there are loads of threads and comments. However when Nintendo and MS announce good news, then the threads have few comments. Likewise, when bad news is announced for Sony, the threads also have few comments.
