AC4 plays super smooth on PS4 at 1080/30. I have no problem with TR being 1080/30 if it's locked like AC4.

True, it pretty much didn't skip a single frame, maybe in huge naval battles. I would be perfectly happy if every game would have 30fps but at such a steady rate. (well ok, expect for fighting, racing and sports games, they need to be 60fps this gen)

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

AC4 isn't claiming to be a "Definitive Edition"

That's the smartest thing I'll probably hear all day.

Later we'll debate how GOTY editions are rarely GOTY.

Don't be ridiculous.

If you're going by "title" alone,

AC4 has only had one release up until now. The next-gen version was less than a month away from the originals.

I see no reason why they can't call TR the definitive edition this time around seeing as the original was released over a year ago.

And again, a game doesn't need to be 60FPS just because that's the "golden standard." 30 FPS is more than acceptable as is with AC4.

Having recently played around at a friends house, I can honestly say people are FOS when they brag about their PC's. He bought a PC with an i7 4770K, a nVidia GTX 760, 16GB RAM 1866, 120GB SSD, 1TB HDD, and payed ~$1,100 on black friday. Playing BF4 at 1080p at a level that was above PS4 was resulting in dips to 24fps, with max fps at 47, and an average of 36fps. To get up to 60fps and see similar results to PS4's digital foundry videos, setting had to be lower to what I felt was below PS4 level graphics.

Now, I currently running a 780ti, and yes that will pretty much do whatever I want but it comes at a mighty price. Expecting PS4 and XBO to do 1080p/60fps and be at a competitive price is complete BS. Even if We had waited 2 more years for RAM stack directly on the APU for near TB/s speed with ridiculously low latency, it would still have fell short of the best PC's. But, it would still wipe the floor with mid range GPU's, and cost well over a $1000 to get similar performance.

Give it a year or 2 and PS4 and XBO will easily be pulling off games that will bring R9 280's and GTX 770's to there knees. Optimization, low level API's, and platform knowledge change the game a lot. By this time the Consoles will be $300 and a computer matching there capabilities will still run you well over $800.

So, bring on the 1080p/30fps titles. May they be lock solid, and perfectly optimized. In 2 years I will join the 1080p/30fps crowed even with my 780ti, because that's the way things go.

Your friend could have spent 800 bucks instead of 1100 and invested it more wisely and would have had much better frame rates in BF4. GPU is the biggest bottleneck.

On topic - Xbox One GPU is in line with a Radeon 7790 so it would be very interesting to see how this game, with identical visual fidelity runs on that GPU and similar CPU. Hopefully they release this updated version on PC as well.

My guess is that the difference in spec performance between console and PC we are used to seeing is not going to be very big these days. Both consoles come with bloated OS's and X86 architecture similar to PCs. The magical "optimization" we are used to seeing on consoles is not going to make a huge difference this gen IMO.

Yeah I ain't buying this crap for sixty bucks. The hell is Square Enix thinking?

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

But... the hair...

Hair > everything else since 2007. That's why Ninja theory used a cell SPE exclusively for it in Heavenly Sword, and look at them now, they're one of the highest esteemed devs of the gaming platform with more users in the world.

This will be one of the most hilarious developments in gaming history, seeing as The Order should be running 60 FPS.

0331 Happiness is a belt-fed weapon

How is 60 frame attractive you stupid

Wow, that is just pathetic.

Looking at the comparison video, I may just change my mind. I still have my Xbox One money. I may grab this game after all.
