Kupomogli is being ironic. xD He's basically calling out people who consider any hack n' slash a God of War ripoff, as if that game invented the genre.

The funny thing about Konami is they are valued at 3 billion dollars still, and most of that has to do with the insane amount of Yugioh cards they still sell. They print up a new set or release set monthly and they almost always sell great. With high production / marketing costs it's a waste of time for Konami to develop a bunch of video games anymore. Metal Gear Solid 4 did well at 5.84 million but thats pretty much the only game that did great numbers for them last gen. Lords of Shadow is one of my favorite 360 games but it only moved 1.5 million, this new one will be lucky to sell a million based on that. The 3DS Castlevania was a huge flop too only selling 110k which only amounts to about 3 million in revenue, which is chump change comapred to their Yugioh sales.

Metal Gear Solid V looks great but when compared to how MGS4 looked for its time..its sorta crap ;-(

It would be nice to see them retrench and go back to their games with committed fanbases - stuff like Suikoden, old-style Castlevania (though as slightly more accessible alternatives I'd argue there's probably a place for LoS, though I admit I haven't played it yet.)

None of them will sell gangbusters but they've got MGS for that, and it would help them diversify if they could turn things like Zone of the Enders into more well known IPS. Who knows, if Titanfall creates a mecha craze in the west, they'd be well placed to cash in with ZoE

That said, I doubt anything will happen, their mobile division does quite well I believe and as has been mentioned, that Yu-Gi-Oh money just keeps rolling in so I expect them to continue in their current vegetitive state for a while yet

Call them whatever you want, I just want more of them! Some of my favorite games ever are Metroidvanias, Castlevania perfected that genre even better than Super Metroid which was in itself a masterpiece. 

you know whats funny, these GoW ripoff Castlevanias are some of the best selling ones ever outside of SotN, so the real world doesnt agree with the lot of you. And these Metroidvanias you all love so much (i like em too) dont exactly do gangbusters either. That 3ds game was mediocore.

Honestly i only ever cared for the Metal Gear series and that has been consistent for years and I dont see that changing, so its all good for me at least. Peace Walker was my least favorite one but i still plugged 60+ hours into it.

That's the point.  Why do you think the post is written like it is?  With the constant use of phrase God of War ripoff, what do you call the exact games that predate God of War?  I was actually hoping someone was stupid enough to call these two games God of War ripoffs.
