the Wii u is tracking lower than even Ninty's own worst selling console

So was the PS3, at least in America and Japan. You didn't read my thread from a couple of days ago, did you? Simplistic "System A is trending ahead/behind System B" analyses, assumptions that things will be business as usual, etc., etc., are not exactly the best method to project future sales, insofar as much as they can be predicted at all with any amount of accuracy. We all try to predict, and almost all of us end up way off the mark. Predictions based on then-current trends were all over the place early in the seventh generation. Some people thought the PS3 would end up being the next GameCube, while others thought it would have passed the Wii a long time ago. Others thought the 360 would dominate the generation, while others still thought the 360 had peaked and would wither away, selling sub-SNES numbers. Some thought the Wii would outsell the PS2 (and before it came out some thought it would sell like the GameCube). While some estimates are more or less reasonable than others (higher estimates of the Wii U's possible sales, such as those that put it over 50 million over its whole life, are highly improbable), the system's fate is far from sealed. We don't know if it'll sell worse than, the same as, or better than the GameCube. While I think it can do better than the GC, that doesn't mean it will, and I realize that the doomsayers have just as much chance of being right as those of us who have cautious optimism about the system's future do. The best we can do is make semi-educated guesses.

and i my semi educated guest is that it will sell in the ballpark of GC, PS3 never did as bad as WIi U so not sure why that is being brought up

Fanboyism. Brand blind loyalty and fanatism. That is.

Most of the WiiU haters in these forums actually never played it.

A few played and disliked.

And a lot played it, liked, but they´re too fanatic about their favorite brands to admit.

then that doesnt answer my question. Where did all those 100 mil wii owners go? cause as it stands right now it would have retained 1/5th of its audience, for comparison's that much worst than Sony which went form 150mil PS2 to 80mil PS3

Most will still be undecided at this point, just as most PS2 owners were this far into PS3's life.

thats nonsense and you know it, its pretty much decided. PS2 owners either bought PS3, 360 or Wii, not that it matters, because you are dodging the question. Where did those 100 mil Wii owners go? PS4 has record breaking sales, so its safe to assume that PS3 owners, and some 360 even some Wii are flocking to the system. Its not undecided, Wii U has been out long enough that we have trends.

Not every PS2 owner had bought a Wii/PS3/360 by Jan of 2008.

Wii U has neither the price nor the games yet that appeal to the masses. But they are both coming. (MK8/Smash/$199)

so it'll start doing WIi numbers? do you wanna bet that it wont. And FYI PS2 150 mil. PS360 160mil plus pretty sure most PS2 owners bought at least one of those two systems.

Stop putting words in my mouth and trying to push a strawman on me. It will simply do considerably better than it's doing now.

And not by January of 2008 they hadn't.

And as far as software, the Wii has pretty much been dead since 2010, what the hell were they doing in all that time?

why ignore the next sentence when he outlines that Nintendo has about a 5:1 ratio of employees compared to Sony? Then take into consideration that sony has had PSP, Vita, Ps3 and Ps4 to concentrate on and that picture is not even remotely close to answering the question

Has Sony really supported PSP in the last few years? And Vita gets barely any support from Sony. PS3 has gotten strong support but that will die down alot now that PS4 is available. Basically they are in the same boat as Nintendo where they dont give strong support to all there platforms at any given time.

in 2010 PSP had Mod Nation, GoW, Patapon and MLB the show from sony(off the top of my head). Only 1 AAA title in that list but that doesnt take away the fact it takes resources. Vita had good support in its first year if I remember correctly (i dont really pay attention to handhelds). Also, sony probably also invested in more things like DLC, patches and online all together.

Nintendo didn't deliver on what a lot of people wanted. Thats not to say the system wont soon turn out great.

doesnt matter if it was jan 2008 or 2012, fact is NOW we can see where those PS2 people went. PS3 and 360 were expensive. WIi U isnt even close by a long shot so again where are these Wii people? cause the price is not keeping them away if you think that you are fooling yourself.

Im not putting anything on you i want info, it will do considerably better? whats considerably better? give me numbers. cause you and I might have a difference of what considerably means. I dont want you looking for more excuses when the system doesnt move that much when these games released, like you were doing for Rayman, Pikmin, Sonic, 3d world...and whatever game you thought would help WIi U

It comes with being the market loser (or will be in a years time).

Personally, it is Nintendo's refusal to change or adapt to the competition. Their online network is on par with Xbox Live in 2002, their strict family-friendly image, and yes....their very underpowered console with a tradition of shunning 3rd parties.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.
