Canada's like this too. Or at least my area of Ontario. I prefer seeing movies the traditional way but they simply don't offer 2D screenings for many of the new blockbuster films. So I'm forced to pay more for something I don't want. Whomp whomp.

It's all about the game.
Can we at least enjoy 3D for having way more clearity & anti-aliasing & vividness & etc. then 2D?
All the theaters in my whole state only show 3D movies (at a much greater cost) for the biggest movies, and even then those big films are always offered in 2D as well. The rest are in 2D and only the biggest theaters like AMC have 3D, the rest of them don't even have 3D.
And I'm perfectly fine with that since I don't really care for 3D (watched one movie in 3D and it was a terrible experience).
Some cinemas only show 3d versions in the evenings and 2d is the afternoons, and most people go to cinemas in the evening.

It depends on the American Cinema.
Rave is the same price, but AMC still charges an extra $4.

Can't at least watch The Great Gatsby in 3D?
Thats all I ask for.
Its on 3D Blu-Ray.

Only reason it exists is because it inflates the ticket prices and it prevents handheld cam movie piracy. 9 out of 10 times it adds absolutely nothing to the movie and is actually a worse experience because of it. Because of this I always smile when I read news about 3D like the ones below: ESPN is canceling their 3D TV service http://www.theverge.com/2013/6/12/4422874/espn-3d-to-shut-down-by-end-of-2013 Vizio is removing 3D from all future TVs http://www.theverge.com/2014/1/6/5279150/vizio-announces-first-consumer-4k-tvs-kills-3d-support |
I have pirated 3D movies with my 3DS several times, LOL but true.

I don't have a 3D Blu-Ray player or a 3D HDTV (or the glasses for that matter) or the Great Gatsby in 3D Blu-ray so that would be a rather difficult feat to accomplish.
