Forums - Sales - Why come no one is seeing the 2D screenings of today's 3D Movies? (i.e. Gravity & 47 Ronin)

4D is the future, bow down.

Why would I want 2D if I can have 3D for 1€ more?

I haven't seen it Hobbit yet but when I do, it's going to be in 2D. I prefer not to see non-animated films in 2D. The glasses just change what you are viewing even if the 3D could be amazing.

Everyone says the Hobbit 2D 48 fps made them disoriented & dizzy & etc.

But everyone was positive about the Hobbit 3D 48 fps.

Well its because when they first come out, I mean the big blockbusters.....they don't even give you a 2D option until the movie is like 3 weeks old.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

3D costs the same as 2D? Yeah, in which country?

Because in mine I have to pay 120% more for watching movies in 3D. Which I am not going to. I haven't ever seen a 3D movie yet.

America.

Maybe I am showing my age, but I find that all 3d movies look like a gimmick and I'd rather watch in 2D. I can't help but think I'm watching the Bots Master (if anyone remembers that.) I'm also cheap and would rather pay the least amount possible. :)

You will love The Great Gatsby in 3D.

A lot of theatres push for 3D versions of movies. Where I'm from, most theatres don't even offer the 2D version of films if there's a 3D one. What's worse is that they charge more for 3D films than for those in 2D.

this.

only saw gravity in 3D because the theatre didn't have it in 2D.  was piss off i had to pay a premium especially since the 3D added nothing and was piss poor in a few bits.

...i go to the theatre a lot less than i used to.

I have no idea. I hate watching 3D movies.

If theres no 2D version i probably wont go watch it.

What about 4K HD TVs & Nintendo 3DS? (because they are glasses-free 3D)

Plus 3D Blu-Ray Players are $50 & up.

LOL

@sales2099

In my experience the y have the 2D screenings the first 3 weeks, with 3D screenings, but then get rid of 2D, because of lack of sells for 2D.

3D in movie theaters blows. Only reason it exists is because it inflates the ticket prices and it prevents handheld cam movie piracy. 9 out of 10 times it adds absolutely nothing to the movie and is actually a worse experience because of it.

Because of this I always smile when I read news about 3D like the ones below:

ESPN is canceling their 3D TV service
