Harcore gamer simply means a person that plays videogames on a consistend basis, like every week or even every day, and therefore spends a considerable amount of money in buying games. While "casuals" only play once in a while and only buy games once in a while, like the crowds that buy madden, fifa and little else, and the wii for it's motion controls fad etc.

Yes, I´m serious. A person who only plays and spent money on a single type of game can´t be considered "hardcore" (I personally hate this therm), simply because they only know and care about a small part of the whole videogame entertainment. At most, they´re just addicts. A true "harcore" gamer is the one who is really engaged in this form of entertainment and all the possibilities it offers.

In your logic, then all those people I see playing Candy Crush, Farmville and Angry Birds on their phones and tablets on commuting trains every day should be considered hardcore gamers.......

its fine for the niche. there is fun to be had but I would not consider it a main console if you game alot.
