Not sure if serious? Harcore gamer simply means a person that plays videogames on a consistend basis, like every week or even every day, and therefore spends a considerable amount of money in buying games. While "casuals" only play once in a while and only buy games once in a while, like the crowds that buy madden, fifa and little else, and the wii for it's motion controls fad etc.

Yes, I´m serious. A person who only plays and spent money on a single type of game can´t be considered "hardcore" (I personally hate this therm), simply because they only know and care about a small part of the whole videogame entertainment. At most, they´re just addicts. A true "harcore" gamer is the one who is really engaged in this form of entertainment and all the possibilities it offers.

In your logic, then all those people I see playing Candy Crush, Farmville and Angry Birds on their phones and tablets on commuting trains every day should be considered hardcore gamers.......
