Should have a fairly good Q1 then.

WiiU shipped 3.45m in 2013 and only sold like 2.3m of that??

IF MS have shipped a similar amount, with nowhere near 1m stock on shelves, they will easily surpass the 390k WiiU shipped in Q1.

Wait a bit, the Wii U shipped only 390K in a full quarter (Q1 2013 I presume)?

And btw, whats your reason to you compare Xbone with a struggling console? PS4 is the console to compare it with, even though the Xbone will prob lose to Sony this gen there's no two ways around that fact. They're the unshakable hardcore gaming twins. Nobody can deny that Wii U is borderline irrelevant and thus is hardly something to measure to. (I'm just thinking out loud so I can hear how people reason, not attacking you Seece).

You probably didn't really follow the WiiU shipments then because that was the WiiU's second best quarter.

(using calendar quarters)
Q4 2012 - 3.06m
Q1 2013 - 0.39m
Q2 2013 - 0.16m
Q3 2013 - 0.30m
Q4 2014 - 2.00m ??? (guesstimate)

Oh my God. And I always thought Microsoft's 1.1 million for a Quarter were pathetic and almost impossibly low.

Oh, how the mighty has fallen.

Here's a fun fact for you Slime, take awau WiiU Japan sales and XB1 is less than 700k away from overtaking. In less countries to boot.

Give it a couple of months, we're gonna be hearing in here that half the sales are replacement units.

Just because MS says "to consumers" it is only a guess.

It doesn't mean its a fact nor does it mean its official and perfect.

They are assuming that some % of their shipped figures have been sold to consumers and that figure is somewhere just above 3m.

VGC's figures are just as accurate and not a 'tad' under anything.

i guess we will know that for sure when MS anounced their quarter earnings and see how much they shipped.

@OT: impressive numbers, goes in line with VGC tracking.

I just had a thought....

Just imagine how many One's would have sold if it weren't for yield issues?

BS, they have far more info than VGC.

Day one updates will be a big help in determining sales too. Every single one has to connect to the net to work.

2.9xx million and "over 3m" is statistically identical.

Day one updates. They wouldn't say over 3m if it was 2.9m they've shown in the past they wouldn't do that.

All I'm saying is its statistically the same thing.

The real number could be 3.01m or it could be 3.25 or it could be 3.4.... point is MS doesn't even know exactly, they are just 9x% confident its over 3m. Just as VGC is 9x% confident its 2.9xxm.

Statistically, it doesn't matter... you can safely assume Xbone is around 3m at this point, just as PS4 is around 4m and Wii U is around 5m. Some of you get too caught up on the small numbers and forget all this info from any source (except hard shipment numbers) are nothing more than educated guesses.

even though in the grand scheme of things, a statistician would say the values are the "same" and ignore the difference, since samplings are statistically insignificant at +/- 0.5%; 3.01 is higher than 2.9, and if you don't unequivocally accept the higher number over the statistically insignificant lower number, you're just flaming the poor old XBone because you're a biased Sony fan. Obviously.

Well done!

3 million consoles for $500 is quite an achievement in 6 weeks.

I really hope Quantum Break and Titanfall will benefit from these sales figures. Halo 5 will be doing great no matter what, but I really think these 2 games deserve it just by the look of it.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Proper fable and gears please

Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Just shows that Xbox One hater "vocal minority" really was a vocal minority.

"We got them now...hit them with DRM captain!"

Well I'd say the people being vocal about what they didn't like about the X1 after its reveal made the console take a few 180s and become something that people can accept in their home and support. If people hadn't been vocal and just effectively walked away when they were dissappointed there is no way the system would be over 3million sales now.

People Cried, Microsoft listened and reacted. Good Job both parties I say.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Not bad at all, and a pretty active comunity too, there is always people online to play Battlefield 4 and scores to compare in Xbox Fitness.
That said, I fear te Xbox One will be a western fest, which worries me since I love japanese games, specially Sega RPGs and Konami and Capcom efforts. It calls my atention that the best game in the launch line up is from Capcom, Dead Rising 3 is trully a great experience.
I am planning to buy a WiiU and Ps4 this year, so, I got this scenario covered.
The Xbox One will do fine, it is the casual gamer dream machine: shooters and sport games will be plenty and the Kinect 2.0 works amazing. But the hardcore gamer inside me fear for the future in the console.
Ubisoft has quality titles, but they are too coward to make really daring and deep games, let´s hope for something from Fireaxxis or maybe.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Aaaand Congratulations!

It's really impressive, what with all the bad PR and that. Also, I don't expect a Sony response any time soon. I guess they'll be announcing the 5 mil mark. My guess is MS announces every million to show that the machine is out there, strong and with confidence. Developpers, be our guests!
