Just saying. People are quick to critique and cut down the sales numbers of Gran Turismo 6; saying that it's a flop or the series is done. On the other hand, everyone seems to be positive about 3D world's sales saying the legs are great and it's selling great for Wii U. 

Install base or not, the fact of the matter is Mario is MORE popular than Gran Turismo. The fact that GT6 is handily outselling it at 1.55 mil compared to 1.31 of 3D world just shows a double standard with the two games. 

Thoughts?

*DIsclaimer* try NOT to to bring up game quality into this discussion. We all know that GT6 isn't much different from previous GT and that 3D is a fanstatic game that is unlike any other main Mario installment (except the obvious 3D land on 3DS)

There were way more 3D World flop threads (outsold by Knack in the UK, Mario can't move consoles anymore, worst selling mainline Mario etc.) than GT6 flop threads...

i thought this thread would be the other way around. saying people calling Mario a flop and not doing the same for GT6.

Well Gran Turismo 6 is selling on a platform that has 80 million users while Super Mario 3D World is selling on a platform that has 5 million users. There is kind of a difference .

Mario is more popular than Gran Turismo, but GT games usually do similar numbers to 3D Mario titles.

I think Mario 3D World is following a comparable curve to the Galaxy's and 3D Land sales-wise, while GT6 is considerably down from GT5 (which is supposed to be a little more front-loaded).
Haven't checked so disregard if I'm talking out of my *ss though, but I think that's it .

1.55mil on a 80mil+ vs 1.3mil on a 5mil is a huge difference!

Beside you dont see all the doom threads for SM3DW? I dont kno why you have this comparison anyway, GT6 isnt a flop. And thats kind of messed up calling out SM3DW cuz of it.

instal base is pretty irrelevant at this point of the generation.

(insert mental disorder here) who are drones to one brand usually have a lot to do with it.
