there is no cloud processing thats a load of bollocks, that way you would have to remain online always

Unlike any other system, the ability to have every single game brought out use Cloud processing for things like Drivatar AI, Physics calculations, AI battles, Fixed lighting etc.

... you realy think they are going to be so stupid to do real-time calculations in the cloud?.. you must have belived in all that marketing right?
Never gonna happen, think what would happen to your game if you had lag etc. even in a singleplayer situation.. no-one would code that stupid. AI, sure.. that works, if you have connection -> calculate. other -> use X behaviour that is hard-coded

Its being done already. 3 games releasing this year are using fixed lighting solutions in the cloud as well as physics calculations that are not directly affecting the player input controls. Titanfall does quite a few realtime calculations on the cloud. As its an online only game anyay it will benefit greatly.

70% of 360 owners have Gold subscriptions. ( I believe the last figure was 57 million active individual Gold users. ACTIVE being the important word.

Theres other consoles out there like PS4 or Xbox 360 for gamers who either A) dont have internet yet or B ) wont have good internet for 3 years. But why cant a company build something for people like e who CAN take and make use of Cloud Processing for things in todays climate?

The processing I mentioned will not effect gameplay. They are currently processing things that Fixed ( not dynamic ) etc. It still frees up resources of the Xbox One hardware. But by 2017 Cloud Processing will take a big leap imo. And thats when Xbox One will shine mightily.

Yes, I did.

I brought Dead Rising 3 to a friend of mine and we played the game. I wanted to show him the story mode and when I logged in, the Xbox One used my saved games from the cloud and I was able to continue my way through the story on his Xbox One. This took about 10 seconds and the console did it automatically.

Sure, cloud savings are nothing spectacular new, but this was the first time I ever used it and it became quite handy.

Cloud gaming will really shine in the next 1-3 years. Nobody expected launch games to use this technology to the fullest.

welcome to 5 years ago?!   i'm pretty sure 360 added cloud saving sometime not too long after ps3 did,.. no?!?

PS3 and 360 have been doing this for years.

This is more than that.

It brings up every app you have an account for. All your pins, your DLC, Basically everything. Not just game saves. Its like your sitting at your own Xbox. The complete experience. Faveourite TV shows, All their right on your dashboard.

But yeah i guess the OP meant more to do with Cloud Processing. Which Forza 5 and the very soon Titanfall are the big names there. Then theres talk of Halo 5 using it, as well as Sunset Overdrive. For some physics calculations and fixed lighting.

Lol I love people claming cloud features are a marketing myth... It's about as accurate than 15th century people insisting earth is flat and the globe is a myth... It's not because it's not used on XBox one yet or accessible to everybody just yet that the thing is not real.... I expect to have a 1Gbps connection with an under 10ms latency by the end of the decade minimum....
and the cloud is already really real today... Fact is almost all my CPU equipped devices rely on it one way or an other.... But yeah it's marketing BS... Mouarf

Cool....story.....about....myths.....and...clouds.....now...about...that...sentence...structure...

Thanks mate!

Anyway, I know cloud saves are available on 360 / PS3 as well, I just happened to use it the first time. And yeah, keeping my Pins and digital games (so far: 1, Fifa 14) is pretty cool as well.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Kinda related I guess, what about the dedicated servers? I remember that prior to launch alot of Xbox fans used these as vital advantage the X1 has over the PS4, but now I'm not hearing anything about it.

How is it, are you noticing any difference in online play compared to the 360?
