Forums - General - Honestly, Can We PLEASE Stop This Sh*t...

If there one thing I absolutely HATE about this site is that people seem to think that there are rules about what we can and can't compare. Whenever I enter a thread that says something like "Vita outsells Wii U" or "3DS outsells PS3+360" there ALWAYS has to be people claiming that we aren't aloud to compare them. My question is, WHY?? Is there a law against comparing a handheld to a console? Do we measure handheld sales on a different scale then a console? Nope.

Honestly people, can we stop the whole "you can't compare the 3DS to PS4 because when the 3DS launched it was partly cloudy with a chance of rain" thing. You have to realise we can compare whatever the fuck we want because their are no rules against it. And if you're going to argue about how comparing two dedicated gaming console can't be compare because one is a handheld and one is a console then please create a metric by which we can compare them otherwise your just going to look like a tool.

As much as people have a right to compare, people have a right to say such a comparison is faulty

Honestly can we stop with these being a victim/complaining about others opinion threads?

I am Torgo, I take care of the place while the master is away.

"Hes the clown that makes the dark side fun.. Torgo!"

Ha.. i won my bet, but i wasnt around to gloat because im on a better forum!  See ya guys on Viz

Ya and if people want to compare 3DS to certain platforms in those thread, they should be allowed. Eh Pezus. (Yes I find those threads hilourious since it nitpicks, and on top of that others aren't allowed to point out otherwise.)

Of course you can compare things. But there are certain products where comparisons just doesn't make sense.

You certainly can compare anything you want. Of course, people can also say, "that's a bloody stupid comparison." It works both ways.

Then you still don't understand what I was saying. Do I seriously need to keep explaining my reasoning, or will people just keep ignoring it anyway so they can attack me?

No offense, but telling people to stop doing something is the most silliest thing I seen on this forum, like I said, if you want to compare A to B, don't be mad when they compare A to C.

People are allowed to nitpick nitpicking.

Well... I think it's fine unless people try to cherry pick numbers and manipulate the results to look like a win for their preferred console. Then I think it's absurdly blind fanboyism.

Personally, I would like to see more threads celebrating achievements and milestones of consoles rather than ones trying to start a flame war by saying "My console/game beat your console/game last week in this specific region".

No because what could lead to interesting discussion on console sales has to be people ruined by people riding in on their white horses claiming that said comparison shouldn't be aloud.

Also on the same note why can't I make a thread complaining about something? If they have the right to complain about a comparison then I have the right to complain about their complaining.

Its called "logic".

But logic is also subject to interpretation.
