As long as it's not off topic trolling (pretty much everytime a person brings up 3DS because the topic is about the competition doing good), there is no reason why we can't compare things. The comparison shouldn't lack perspective though. For example comparing 3DS and PS4 sales wthout factoring in the PS4's lack of supply and release in Japan is just silly.

No offense, but telling people to stop doing something is the most silliest thing I seen on this forum, like I said, if you want to compare A to B, don't be mad when they compare A to C.

Oh, was I the mad one? I thought it was the dozens of users attacking both me and my threads (inside my threads and other ones) due to wanting to do a relevant comparison. 3DS vs. PS4 isn't relevant for one MAJOR reason, that people don't seem to get. And no, it's not that 3DS is a handheld. 

See, people still don't seem to get that. I was hoping that adding that to the OP would allow some people to "get" it, but I guess not. It has been scientifically proven that most people never read the OP anyway.


You do know I am mocking the fact the you went out of way to mention don't do the comparisons right. Just like that other thread about Vita outselling Wii U and Xbox One (Given that thread, I find questionable cherry picking)

Again I don't mean any offense to your threads, just the way you addressed the problem.

Of course some comparisons don't make sense but people seem to think that we shouldn't even be aloud to make said comparison in the first place. Sure comparing an Iphone to a Vita doesn't make a whole lot of sense but why not compare them? And if you ask me comparing a handheld to console makes a lot more sense than people think.

No because what could lead to interesting discussion on console sales has to be people ruined by people riding in on their white horses claiming that said comparison shouldn't be aloud. 

Also on the same note why can't I make a thread complaining about something? If they have the right to complain about a comparison then I have the right to complain about their complaining. 


this topic has been beaten to death in a number of threads, it doesnt need another one.  This is just making more arguments and a shot for attention. 

If someone wants to make a comparison, make a thread about it.  Hell someone can make a thread about "should handhelds be compared to consoles".  If someone makes a thread about a comparison, keep that thread about that comparison. People shouldnt come in and try to highjack the conversation to something else.  if they want to compare it to something else, make a thread about that.  But if someone makes a thread about a comparison that is bloody stupid, they should expect to get called out on it.

Personally, I would like to see more threads celebrating achievements and milestones of consoles rather than ones trying to start a flame war by saying "My console/game beat your console/game last week in this specific region".

@OP, I agree with you and think it's fun when people compare things regardless of how they relate to each other, so long as their arguments are sensible.

Most of these guys are not mature enough for this to happen.

What? I do know what you're saying but I'm afraid you still don't know what I'm saying. Again, the only reason 3DS was completely irrelevant, off-topic and borderline trolling in that thread was because PS4 is supply constrained and thus the comparison is absolutely pointless. The same can't be said for the Vita thread, where a doomed handheld is outselling two consoles in plentiful supply in Europe.

I meant how you tried to deal with the issue, by saying don't bring something up. You could have easily handled it much better, you are handling it better in this thread. (The best way to describe what I mean)
