Forums - Nintendo - Knack outsold Super Mario 3D World ... right ?

pezus said:
To be fair, Knack has outsold Mario in the UK 4 weeks out of 5. Nobody was talking about Europe as a whole lol (especially because we only get figures from the UK).

I remember posts stating this as if it were Worldwide. Sites you ask? I never thought you would.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/704522-knack/67995017

http://www.gamerevolution.com/news/knack-outsells-super-mario-3d-world-as-ps4-breaks-uk-sales-records-22869 (headline indicates Knack outsold 3D World)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8If0ZjRwqOk (yet another clever click bait website)

http://www.psu.com/interstitial.html?return_url=http://www.psu.com/a021857/Knack-outsells-Mario-former-Sony-UK-dev-comments

But that is just 1 page of Google, even after the fact that we KNOW 3D World outsold Knack by a LARGE percent. Notice 2 are from forums (though forums are where a lot of Fanboys get their info) but also 2 of these website "forget" to mention in the UK only.

I've re-read your post and to be honest, it's badly written english. I don't know where you are from, so perhaps English isnt your first language?

But if you had said Sony tried to generate hype, the context of your message would have been clear, but your sentence was talking about users were given few options and the game was hyped, so the context of your sentence is that users hyped it.

Sony will of course try to "promote" their game to generate hype. But regardless the hype generated by Sony (which is reflected by the lack of hype of the PS4 users) suggests there was no or little hype.

I also find it funny that in your own "flame bait" signature you have a metacritic picture of Knack and it's score... so I think we can say reviewers on the whole were not hyped by the Sony hype. So either way there was very little hype...lol.

Ultimately knack will probably sell a million copies, which isnt bad for a game derided by reviewers and some of the community, while other games will sell much better, not really big news, especially when the console it's being sold on has already overtaken the competitors console sales in a matter of days in some markets and will overtake it lifetime this year.

Sorry, I'm not going to bother reading your thoughts. I just read the first sentence.

You were clearly wrong, no need to attack me. A little maturity never hurt anyone.

Not defensive in the slightest. I'm done with this argument since I was able to make my point with one post. Rather than changing my point defensively.

I didn't change my point. You misinterpreted my OP.

The last 8th generation platforms must have a deneuralizing effect of some kind. That is my only explanation for this bizarre phenomenon.

Ah the old, not reading your post crap. Well if you can be bothered to read the first part, perhaps you might learn something if you read the rest. How can you know i am clearly wrong if you cannot be bothered to read the rest. Being mature means you take on board other peoples opinions.

If you want a serious discussion about games, consider at least being mature enough to take other peoples opinions on board, when you are ready for a mature conversation about gaming and games, by all means give me and others a shout.

It's been outselling it nearly every week in the UK. It's funny to see such a mediocre platformer outsell one of the most critically acclaimed games of the year simply because it's on a different console.

It´s not funny, it´s sad. If people keep supporting mediocre games just because of the hype, this industry is going to implode.

*Stares at the post, then turns around and see Brokenfield 4, Call of Duty: Dogs, Gran Turismo 5.5
, Ryse,: Son of Boring, Whack (Yes, I finally tried out Knack and I have to admit, I *gulps* kind of.. like Knack, not as bad as people are trying to make it out to be, however, I can see why people hate the game and I feel quite the same when they meant about the potential Knack have failed to acheive, and yes, it's repetitive and gets boring, especially with a concept that sounds interesting, unless you're playing hard mode, which makes the game quite challenging and intense, I can't recommend the game to anybody unless you get the game for cheap or want something away from the done to death FPS genre ), and Beyond: Two Movies (I don't know what to think about this "game", I just don't like it, though if you like the "game", that's fine, it's your opinion and I can respect it).

I'm not bothering to read your long posts because you're going on a tangent. I simply don't care.

Ultimately, the current sales of Knack aren't anything to boast about given it was a launch game pushed by Sony.

Ah the old, you're not making sense stuff eh. Look don't bother replying as you are obviously not serious about having a proper conversation.

If two paragraphs are too much for you, perhaps you need to look at why you have such a short attention span. You know when someone has lost an argument.... when they roll out the usual bs of "cant be bothered to read... or the tangent" argument. Good job.

Of course when you are ready to talk with the adults, please let me know. You could start with being less biased and removing your flame bait signature, which tells me all I need to know.

The guy said putting a demo of a new release on a demo unit is considered hyping. Then went on to say it had a TV push and bundles. When you tell hm he is wrong with evidence he says you proved him right. The guy is clearly trolling

Once again, just a single example of how Sony pushed that game.

You went from saying Knack had no hype to downplaying the hype it did have. Like I said before, its a game many people knew about simply because Sony pushed it.
