Even if the PS4 contuines to sell well that doesn't really mean that Knack will get to a millon units because other games will be coming to compete for people's attention and money. I mean will Zombiu ever get to a million units if the Wii U;s sales pick up with all the new games coming for that system? |
Can Zombi U reach a million units if Wii U sales pick up? Actually, yeah. It's quite possible. Take a look at this.
When you look at ZombiU's sales you'll notice a pattern. The sales spike the week Lego City/Monster Hunter released. They pick up slightly again in August as Pikmin pushed systems. They jump again in late September when Zelda is released and the Wii U drops in price. In short, sales for Zombi U pick up when Wii U sales pick up.
So, if the Wii U explodes this year, will Zombi U hit a million? Probably not. It's got quite a ways to go. But, more consoles will absolutely help it sell more, even if the influx of other games will lower its overall attach rate. Knack has a stronger start, and if the PS4 has strong sales till the second wave in March, it could pretty easily hit 1 million even without Japan.

I'm gonna just stop you there, the rest of your post is a tangent. I know mascot platformers aren't the most popular genre today. But I expected the push from Sony and being one of two 1st party launch titles to make sales stronger. Sometimes that's enough to make a game a hit. I don't think people are ignoring Knack because of the genre, people are just really turned off to that game. |
That's fair, its also a lot more understandable than the initial statement. We can agree to disagree then because frankly I felt Knack sold more than it deserved

People in the U.K need to stop wasting their money on video games and go to Dental college, clearly they have no clue.

I wasn't saying its not possible for Zombiu to reach 1 million because I really hope it does because Nintendo needs more 3rd party games to sell better. I was pointing out its not probable given the conditions of the markert and the kind of game it is. Sure, Knack could get there too, which tells you a lot the lanuch games of PS4 that a game so average can sell that well only because of slim pickings on the system.

Mario is now over 1 million worldwide, what is the latest figures for Knack?
I played Knack and if it sold well that will be a lot of underwhelmed people....

except zombie u has good reviews (and i can tell you is good) but Knack's reviews are not so good. Sure sales will continue but i doubt its going to be one of the games people need to pick up when they pick up a ps4 6-12 months down the road.
Even though Zombie U is a year old its a game i recommand if you pick up a wii u...its just plain fun and stressful :)

Zombi U would be a good game, if it weren't for the numerous glitches contained within it. There are still several game breaking bugs which is a shame because it would be really good otherwise.
Back to the point though, things like reviews obviously go into account, but with any game more console sales are better.
Nintendo sent a representative to the UK to speak to them about the Wii U. This is what the Nintendo rep said:
