Is Hyrule Warriors Doomed??

DOOMED 51 20.40%

Probably 36 14.40%

Maybe not if it's more l... 75 30.00%

I like females with swords 88 35.20%

Total:250

Would you rather have nothing to play or Zelda: Hyrule Warriors and SMT x Fire Emblem? These games are OK because they fill in release gaps in Nintendo's library without using up Nintendo's internal resources.

Or would you rather just have say Animal Crossing U and Mario Party U for fall 2014?

It's a dynasty warrios game made by tecmo, it is going to sell like a dynasty warrios game made by tecmo with the Zelda rights would sell in a system with Wii U's installbase, that's probably (much) less than 1 million, it will make money, there's basically no way to overthink it yet some people manage to do it... -- If anything, it can only exceed expectations.

I'm not really a fan of hack and slash, but it looks quite fun :D

I don't think it will be a big seller, but I also don't think it's going to be a flop. It should be enough to make some decent profit.

A million WW might be pushing it, you're right, but it will sell about 20x more than a vanilla Dynasty Warriors game would on the Wii U.

I think in North America this will outsell something like Pikmin 3 or even Yarn Yoshi.

Around the 1 million area. I don't want to explain or argue about it.

"Hopefully this isn't the only zelda title being worked on for the Wii U because that would be really bad."....... They already said that Hyrule Warriors is a spinoff, but you didn't pay attention  as usual. smh

I think its going to be a solid 1.5 - 2 million seller. In Japan Dynasty Warriors is a massive franchise, while Zelda is much more popular in the US. Its going to draw interest from fans of both games and if the number of hits on the youtube video (550k already) already shows this. To me it just looks like a more accessible style Zelda game to people who dont like the normal dungeon/puzzle solving type games.

Dude, Dynasty warriors exclusive to one console. I dont even know if one can even expect it to make a million. This game is going to be even more niche than Platinum Games title. Tecmo is the only third party I know who has a possibility of selling a lot lower than a Platinum Games exclusive. Platinum Games never built its name on a Nintendo console, nor were any associated akin with capcom when the the hack n slash genre was going semi-strong in the PS2 era.

As I've said before, Nintendo did the same thing with Star Fox. When they got desperate, they told Rare to just reskin their game with their Starfox characters. Smart? Yes and no. You see, Dinosaur adventures concept had nothing to do with the space ship flying of Starfox and Dynasty warriors gameplay style has nothing to do with the pacing of Zelda.

Desperation.

It will do well in Japan (and sell some systems) and decent in NA. Probably not much hope for Europe. I think it will be a success for a spinoff, just as Wind Waker was a modest success for a remake.

wow, ppl seriously needs to look at things under a other contexte.

This game is not supposed to be a system seller. I doubt anyone at Nintendo is thinking otherwise. Just because it's not aimed at being a system seller does'nt means that it should'nt be made.

This game has been confirmed to not being the next real Zelda game. And if even it was'nt confirmed, you would need to be seriously stupid to think that it is the real next Zelda game. Did anyone think that Link's Crossbow training was the next Zelda game instead of Skyward Sword? But I don't even understand why I'm even talking about this since Iwata said it himself that it was'nt the next Zelda game.

The game is not aimed at selling Zelda numbers of units. It is aimed simply at being a fun spinoff for both fans of Dynasty Warriors games and for some Zelda fans who are interested into trying a new style of game they never tried before.

This game has not the production value of a Zelda game. It will probably sell between 300k and 500k units, Nintendo are probably expecting these numbers and the game will be profitable with these numbers. Ppl need to look at games in a way that will make them understand that some things are just meant to be enjoyed by some and stop trying to go deeper than that with the speculation of wether they are doomed or not. Is Scibblenauts doomed when they sell 200k units? no because the production value of this game is low, it's profitable and is meant as being enjoyed by some, not sell million of units and becoming a worldwide phenomenom.

Conclusion, Hyrule Wariors is only a enjoyable spinoff. Not aimed at becoming a GoTY masterpiece. Just a fun game with the goal of introducing DW fans to Zelda, and some Zelda fans to DW. And trying to analyse it deeper than that would be pointless and shallow.

I was never into Dynasty Warriors. Now I am. I'm buying Hyrule/Zelda Warriors day one and I strongly consider now buying warriors orochi for Wii U or some other title for PC.

I can't be the only one who thinks this way.
